Woods Lake Trailhead

DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS TO THIS LOCATION. If you map directly to this trail google maps will take you through a private neighborhood that no longer goes through! If you would like to do this trail map yourself to Beaver Lake Trailhead and continue up the road to this trail. It is very well marked and there are tons of trails. (Note: we tried to go through the private neighborhood as we were really far in when we found this out. It is blocked off with a locked gate so you can’t take one of the roads needed. Do not do!)

We walked around for a while to a bunch of the different lakes as all of the trails kind of intertwine. It was a great areas and nothing to strenuous. I would say maybe medium level as some parts have a little bit of elevation but not too bad. All trails are clearly marked but with the over grown bushes in some areas you might have to look around a bit but we were able to still see the paths pretty easily. Also it is good if you don’t want to spend too much time out hiking.I believe the longest trail is 1.2 miles, all others are less so if you only wanted to walk for a bit you could always just go up and come back for a short little look.

A quiet hike. Fall color.

The best feature of this trail head, the little extra driving required to reach it is worth the significant reduction in use. As Whitefish became discovered by many over the last two years, trail heads closer to town have often been busy and the experience much more urban.

Nice little lake to hike around and fish at. Beautiful and quiet.

Remember you are in the wild here. The trails are very nice and the views are wonderful. Still, remember you are in the wild. Yes, there will be bears and cats and wolves AND these things may cause you a bit of trouble for your personal safety and any animal or person you choose to take out here.
