Wallace Centers-Iowa

My husband and I got married at the Henry A. Wallace Farm in Orient in May and the venue staff exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, everything locally grown, and the venue coordinator was great to work with. We had a beautiful experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic and natural place to hold your wedding.

Pizza on the Prairie didn’t disappoint. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation time and found a nice spot to sit. There were still a few picnic tables open as well.
We walked through the prairie art exhibit and visited the gift shop also.
Our pizzas were good and we enjoyed some fresh melon picked at the farm. Nice for families and date night.

Attended the Pizza on the Prairie event here a few weeks ago and absolutely loved the experience. They did a great job of creating a safe but fun atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and helpful in figuring things out. Food was delicious, entertainment was wonderful, and the views were amazing! I also learned a bit more about the history of Iowa and agriculture which is always fun ☺

Had an amazing time at Pizza on the Prairie. Great food, drinks, and a beautiful prairie to walk with some local art. Very nice and beautiful property.

Definitely head out to enjoy a Pizza on the Prairie Friday night event. Fun venue with a group of friends. Excellent pizza and craft beer selection.

An inspiring nonprofit facility that is very important to the community and the earth. Today I stopped by for a "gleaming " day, where all apples collected go to organizations and food pantries such as DMARC (food pantries) and meals on wheels (to name a few). They also educate people about how farming practices have diminished top soil and ate working to improve this situation by promoting and rebuilding the prairie's that are responsible for the amazing top soil which made Iowa a great place to farm. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. if you care about the environment it's a must.

Out here for the Pizza on the Prairie event. Good pizza, a tad over cooked. I still ate the whole the whole thing, except for the burnt edges. Great staff. Music was too loud, and I'm not that old. Just wanted to hear my conversation with family.

The food is amazing! Great staff beautiful farm and so much history. Truly a hidden gem in south west Iowa.

Wallace center was great. The lady in charge of the outdoor part of the farm was showing me the seed corn plot. They have seed from 1918 to the present growing in a plot. I will be returning in the fall to see what the plot looks like. The place is clean and tidy

Outstanding food and superior infection control. The servers were extremely attentive. We had the stone fired pizzas and fresh farm veggies and creamy cucumbers. Exceeded out wildest expecations. PIZZA on the prairie.

We happened across the Gathering Table while wandering around Iowa - what an exceptionally pleasant surprise. The food is absolutely delicious and the people are well beyond hospitable. We had such a pleasant experience - too bad we live 6+ hours away!

If you appreciate eating local and organic, prepare to be impressed!

Today, a couple of friends and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch of kielbasa & kale soup, chicken pot pie, and the spinach vegetable garden salad. The Wallace Center is a fresh food lover's delight!

I was married here 6 years ago, and they made everything so easy! A beautiful place and the food is incredible.

We loved our visit to the Wallace center. The sustainable farming practices and history that this place holds is priceless.
