Anita, Iowa is hiding this gem and rightfully so.
Love the atmosphere, like time travel to a time when eating out was special.
Breakfast was amazing and the server should be cloned.
And did you see the size of that sausage patty!!
Well worth the short jaunt off I-80.

A wonderful and fun breakfast destination. You will not be disappointed with the options or the menu or the friendly service. An amazing small town diner that shouldn't be missed. The hash browns were particularly delicious with crispy outsides and pillowy middles.

Food was excellent!! Portions were good sized. The staff and even the customers were very warm and genuine. If your passing through, I suggest stop here for a bite to eat!!

Very cozy breakfast place in Anita downtown. The coffee was delicious, the server very friendly and all the customers seem to know each other (small-town). Totally worth the drive from the road!

quick service and good food. I tried the Garbage skillet, kids had pancakes, and biscuits and gravy

The breakfast here is excellent, as is the service. The locals are friendly, as well. It's a great place to stop on a road trip.

Nice. Had an incredible omelette and endless tasty coffee. Our waitress was very sweet and seemed to have a great relationship with the community. If a charming joint with classic diner food is your kinda thing, you can't skip The Weather Vane Cafe

I came to the weather vane on the way to camp in wyoming! I got the veggie skillet and split it--good amount of food. "Seapots" on the menu=seasoned potatoes. I liked the mismatched mugs and our waitress :)

We had a decent sized party on a Sunday morning. Friends who had moved out of state came back for a brief visit, so our conversations were all over the place, back and forth across the big table. Lorna, our waitress, was amazing! She played right along with the fun too! The food was great! I can't believe I've waited so long to have breakfast there!

The breakfast is great! Also cute atmosphere, I would be back for sure if I lived closer. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience. I came here with my Grandfather "Floyd Avey" when I was 14 years old in 1979. Farmers from every nearby county came to jaw over cattle, hog, grain prices and the such. They even worked together to help a local repir a John Deere. GREAT Memories !! Thanks

Graciously accommodated our crowd of 13 campers. Pastries were top notch. Blueberry muffin delightful and cinnamon roll one of the best I've ever had. Very friendly locals striking up conversations made experience even better.

Really good food. Great atmosphere: decorated like an old farmhouse kitchen and kind of quaint. Lots of friendly folks. Read the Sunday paper, visit, be comfortable and stay awhile. I expect I'll be coming here a lot.

Delicious juicy burger with crispy bacon, seasoned fried potatoes and fantastic friendly service! Well done!

Breakfast was delicious ... big portions with homemade taste! We split a sauage,egg,cheese, seasoned potatoes and white gravy. Also ordered a pancake (huge) and waffle.

I was invited by a friend to breakfast. Food is great. It was just the way I like it to be. No complaints. Coffee was a highlight for me. Very good coffee.

if you’re driving through looking for a local spot to get food, the Weather cane cafe is the spot! people are so friendly and it gives you a taste of the small town iowa. if i’m ever back in iowa, i will absolutely stop here again. thanks for breakfast weather vane:)

Picked up local honey, had a coffee and a nice chat with the waitress! Great stop after camping at the lake nearby.

It's a quiet, small town, great food, prompt friendly service kinda place. Food was extremely affordable and absolutely delicious. Large portions are very filling :)
