My parents are both from eastern NE, so no matter where we lived, twice a year drive to visit NE relatives we would visit them. I remember when we lived in Cleveland OH, we would drive thru IA. IA was the longest part of the trip(6 hrs crawling 55 mph speed limit in the '70s & '80s), I would be awake when we crossed the Mississippi River and asked my parents to wake me up when we crossed the Missouri River into NE. Every time we drove passed the Smiley Face Water Tower I woke up just to see it as we passed by it on I-80. One of my favorite sights to see!😲

Awesome! We only saw the bottom half, on account of night time illumination, which gave it a great cheeky creepy feel.
