Gus & Tony's Town House Cafe

Local restaurant known for having homemade dishes. Felt a bit old inside but that is part of the charm. Recommended to try the hot beef sandwiches and house pizza. Wasn't sure how the daily chicken enchilada soup would be but surprisingly tasty with a kick of heat. All food we had was good and filling. Not too many eating places in this town but if ever around would recommend stopping here.

Love the ambiance inside. Large dining area. That local home cooked food feel to the place. The server was very friendly. Only ordered one thing off the menu, the cod and it was great. Had the buffet and it was only okay to me, came towards the end of lunch though. Would like to come back and try more, and those pies I need to try…

For a small town diner the food and service is top notch. Our party of 16 was seated quickly right at the time of our reservation. The Thanksgiving Buffet was kept hot and fresh.

They have a poster on the wall that says, "Best gyros in town." That got my curiosity because it's the last thing I expected from a restaurant in rural Iowa. The gyro sandwich did not disappoint. The fried pita bread sets it apart from other gyros I've had, and they make their own tzatziki sauce. The owner is of Greek heritage, and you can sense the pride they have in their restaurant. The wait staff is nice. I've had other sandwiches here, but I recommend the gyros most.

This is a nice, casual restaurant in West Union, Iowa, with great pizza. I have not tried the other food, but I expect it is great as well.

What a delicious surprise. Found this by accident and couldn't be more pleased. Best gyro I have had in a long time, the Hot Roast Beef is not only famous but world class. The Fried Cheesecake was incredible. Will have to return to try the pie, can hardly wait.

I've had worse service at 4 star restaurants. Great communication and fantastic service.

Small town diner$ Excellent food, best beef in the area. Worth the 2hr drive. Dessert is a must, and I never get dessert.

We ran across this cafe accidentally but loved it! Old-timey feel inside, big wooden booths. The server was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the chocolate cream pie was homemade and divine! She says all their pies are homemade.

Gus & Tony's is a great place to eat in West Union. Friendly staff, great food and service. We think the roast beef and mashed potatoes are great! The pies are also amazing! If you want a dine-in experience, home cooked meals and family atmosphere, stop in to Gus and Tony's. You won't be disappointed. Family had lunch here today. Same great friendly staff, great service and great food!

Stopped here because of the reviews and glad I did. Good food and plenty of it. Reasonable prices! Had a hot beef sandwich for $11, compared to a 1/2 hot beef for $10. Good amount of beef. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff.

I crowd had already gathered waiting for the doors to open & as we rounded the corner the door opened & we walked in. "Sit any where" she said. Multiple tables already had place setting so we choose one in the back and sat down. "Oh not here this is reserved" so we moved, "Not here either" a bit annoyed, we laughed, sit anywhere, just not the places we choose. The breakfast was great, our bill was $57, we left her a $50 tip. Thank you!

As new residents of West Union, my family and I absolutely love this establishment and the wonderful men and women who work there. My kids adore the waitresses and love that they're remembered. The food is absolutely delicious and completely affordable, even for our family of 6. We will absolutely be regular customers. 🖤

We were visiting my younger brother for his football game at Upper Iowa University and there are not many options to eat near the campus so we can here. Very friendly establishment, our waitress was very polite and sweet. The food was good and the place was very clean. Would recommend and will return when we are back in town. Thank you for opening up 10 minutes early for us when we were sitting outside in our truck :)

This place is absolutely amazing. The food here is fantastic. You get very generous portions for a very reasonable price. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I don't think I went more than a minute without a full glass of water. If you're looking for a good place to eat in West Union, you have to go here. Will definitely be coming back very soon.
