Grant Wood Art Gallery

Grant Wood a famous artist grew up in Anamosa. This gallery had all kinds of history about him. We bought several renditions of his art.

Don't let the weather-worn exterior keep you from stepping in to see this beautiful gem nestled into the heart of Anamosa. The art and history of Grant Wood is beautifully displayed in a tiny but gorgeous old bank building, the perfect spot for treasures such as these. We had the gallery, and it's devoted curator, all to ourselves so our stay was extra special and informative. Very much worth the drive!!

Deloris, the coordinator of the Gallery was very friendly and gave a wonderful tour to the children. It is a clean, well put together place with wonderful exaples of Jones Co history.

It's a very good place to take the son and teach him and history of the places he has been and lives and I'm a very big history nut and trying to figure out what happened and who it was incredibly art and pictures 📸 #incredible @grantwood

Had the thin crust supreme pizza and it was delicious! Added bonus it was Thirsty Thursday so $1.75 tall boys.

Small but nice place to visit if you're a G.W's fan.

Interesting little gallery in a pleasant little town. The lady working was very nice and helpful. Can see photos of Grant Wood, a large table he made, some of his lithographs and other items.
