Good Fellows

This is one of those small town hidden gems that you need to come visit. It has a nostalgic inviting atmosphere. The wait staff are friendly and efficient.
I had the Rice Bowl with Shrimp and it was really good. Veggies were fresh and tasty and the shrimp done to perfection. For dessert, I had the Rhubarb Crisp with homemade ice cream and it was AMAZING. Save room for this. The craft beer selection was good with 5-6 different styles from various local breweries. I'll be making the 2 hour drive to visit this place again.

Goodfellows is always our go to. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff is always so kind and helpful. The food is always delicious, and it's affordable. We take the drive to Woodbine at least weekly for the amazing food and service. It's definitely worth it!

In town on business, so after a long day or not eating, I was looking for something good and filling. Heard about Good Fellows from the locals so decided to pop in. A warm greeting and off to the table we went. Since it was just me, it was a small table. Makes sense for the smaller location, but it was a smaller than I'm used to and I didn't want to take a whole big table for myself.
Ordered my standard, a cheeseburger with fries and a Root Beer.
First, the Root Beer. It was perfect. Tasted like cane sugar without the terrible after taste of most. Was very nice.
Next, the cheeseburger. Came on a brioche bun and tomatoes and lettuce on the side (ordered specifically without pickles or onions). Was very delicious! Was not expecting it to taste that good and with nearly zero grease all over the place. Didn't put any ketchup on it, it was great without it. Loved it.
Last, the fries. I saved them for because this was the home run for me. I assume the ketchup in the dipping cup is store brand, but it sure didn't taste like it. The fries are crinkle cut, but crispy and not a single soggy one in the lot. They look litely seasoned and are good by themselves, but paired with the ketchup, it was outstanding! Was not expecting that from just ketchup and fries. There were a lot of them, as you can see in the picture, but they were so good, I cleaned the plate and nearly exploded.
Overall, was a delicious dinner that I will tell everyone about. It really was that good and that surprising. Will definitely be back next time I'm here.

Very nice clean restaurant with amazing food!
The help are wonderful, They great you at the door with a smile welcoming you in like your family.
They check on you to make sure you have everything you need or want. Oh lets not forget to mention the deserts are delicious. 😋
We are blessed to have such an awesome restaurant here in our small town.

Amazing food! The Goodfellow Burger (2nd picture) and the Hawaiian Heat Burger (1st picture) are a must try! The entire staff is very helpful and so polite! We are definitely coming back!

Good menu choices. Quality ingredients. Friendly staff. Nice for suit and tie gathering but showing up in work clothes was OK too.

This place is an absolute favorite! Every time we go it’s always excellent! We can’t believe in a small town like Woodbine Iowa we would find a five star restaurant… Good Fellows is the best! The waitress take care of you and the food is made with the finest ingredients and taste incredible! A must try for everyone! Don’t forget about the handcrafted drinks as well!

The staff was very friendly, the food was good and the prices were very reasonable. Not a lot of vegetarian choices, but they're happy to leave off the meat wherever possible. They have a few separate ros.for larger/private parties. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Love this gem in Woodbine. Had reservations and were seated right away. The special that evening was filet and scallops. Why drive to the city when you can go here? Great local restaurant

Stopped for lunch while visiting the area. I have to say this was the highlight of my dining choices on my trip. The building is fantastic, and the use at an eating establishment is perfect! The staff was beyond wonderful. I even got a bit of a tour. I will be back if I make the drive from Oklahoma to Iowa again. Gret food and great experience

Absolutely fantastic experience! We were visiting a nearby town and loved finding this restaurant that is a bit more upscale. The daily special was spectacular. We also tried the local beer on tap and some mixed drinks. All delicious. Our favorite of the night was the bread pudding! Even if you are typically not a fan of bread pudding, give it another try. You won't regret it! Staff was very friendly and the place was clean and nicely decorated.

The only thing I would add is-- it is a tad pricey. But put on some nice clothes and enjoy a fancier, fun evening!

We were only in town to visit and stopped by to get lunch. We didn't realize that they were actually closed between lunch and dinner, but the young man cooking invited us to sit and order anyway, since he was there. I hade the Rice Bowl with just the veggies, sour cream and salsa. The peanut butter porter was also excellent. I didn't catch the young man's name, but on behalf of my wife, my aunt, and myself, Thank you for the food and great service.

Great grandpa died and the funeral service lasted longer than expected, luckily we made a quick call and without question they stayed open for an hour and a half longer just so that my family could have a good dinner. The food is great, the whole family enjoyed our time here definite 10/10

I visit this restaurant quite often. Today's special was extraordinarily good. Locally grown One Farm greens with all of the other great ingredients paired together very well. Keep up the Great Work!

Food was amazing! Moist and tender pork chop, tasty salad dressing, everything was done to perfection! Thanks to Rene for the suggestions on our meals, you were spot on. Live in Lincoln, NE but will make that trip for a meal again for sure!! Kuddos!! ❤

Renee our waitress was OUTSTANDING! She didn't even complain or get annoyed after I spilled a full glass of water in my lap and on the floor. She cleaned it up and immediately had me another full glass ready. Maybe joked with me about it...it's been awhile since I've had that friendly customer service! Tip she got was deserved!
