The other day I did the driving test with Ben. I did not pass my first time. But he was very helpful on what I should do to improve. And I’m moving to Cali very soon so I couldn’t wait tell the week after to take the test. I explained my situation to him. And he was able to squeeze me in the very next day. Even though they weren’t doing drives that day. He was very nice and very helpful of me passing the second time. Literally every time I have had to deal with the dmv in vinton or Cedar Rapids the people were very rude and condescending. They acted like I was wasting there time! When they would explain why I didn’t pass they would snap at me for asking questions. Ben was extremely professional. He very respectfuly answered all questions I had. He helped me understand ways to improve my driving. He was a breath of fresh air! Again he did a amazing job and actually made it feel like he was there to help me.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo and several other offices were 3 weeks out on scheduling but they’re able to get my in same day! Now mayb they don’t handle the same number of people but 3 weeks compared to same day, crazy! Get with it other counties!

Contrary to other reviewers, I think this office is exceptional. Particularly when you compare it to Linn County. Service is prompt, the personnel are friendly and they do a fantastic job. I'm usually in and out in under 10 min. Here's a tip for the other reviewers: don't show up at the last minute before the office closes.

Fast, Polite, and Worth the drive. A DMV that actually cares about helping people.

Went into take my CDL exam and could not even concentrate as the clerks were talking so load in the testing area that I could hear them through headphones. You would think they would be a little more thoughtful when someone is trying to take an exam.

I can go directly into the Court House and speak to them face to face and they don't even have the decency to tell me anything I could do to try to get help nor let me know about my situation. They don't care to try to help out the townspeople unless it is some big shot with a lot of money.
They don't care about the people in this town.
Anamosa is turning out to be one of the worse places to live.

Treasurer's office and Recorders office staffs couldn't have been any more unprofessional. Both teams made it very obvious that whatever you were there for was going to be an inconvenience for them, and took pride in making it challenging to complete anything. Makes me sick to my stomach that my tax money is invested in these teams with such little empathy, zero customer service skills, and an even worse work ethic.

Doesnt do much good to go there after 4pm as they selectively choose what they want to do between 4pm & 4:30pm. Iowa really needs to get in line with other states and get all the state issued stuff out of the hands of small county offices like this. This office is one of the many reasons I no longer live in Jones County. They say small and quant but in reality its backwards and out dated with no semblance of what you imagine a small town would be.
