Don Jose Mexican Restaurant

Really enjoyed eating at Don Jose. Large variety in the menu, staff is very friendly, and service is quick! Next time I am in town, I know I will be coming back.

Very nice authentic Mexican restraint everyone was very friendly . Made you feel like family. Stopped to talk and offer suggestions. The Margareta's are second to none. All top shelf tequila. The meal was there fast hot and delicious. Huge portions. We were there on Sunday and the place. Filled up soon after we arrived you can tell it is a favorite place for the locals.

We ate at this establishment each night the weekend we were visiting the service was great and recommendations of food and drinks were spot on. Nice daily specials as well. We will visit again!

Food and service is always excellent. We eat here about once a month and I'd go more if we lived closer. I always get the enchiladas espinacas. The sauce is amazing. Margs are good too!

Food is exceptional here and very reasonably priced. Lower than I would expect for quality of food. Fresh ingredients, and cooked to order. Service is outstanding. Fast, efficient, and very professional. For what I could see, is there are only 5 staff working, 3 servers and 2 cooks. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting amazing Mexican cuisine and very much worth the travel if you don't live in town.

Spent two nights in Emettsburg following an employer outing at Lake Okoboji. My wife and I dined here our first night and were very pleased by their service and quality of the food. The second night we were going to find another restaurant but decided to return because it was simply that good! No waiting, clean, friendly service, and excellent dining. If you're in the area and want to eat great food and lots of it, this is the spot!

There were 5 of us and each of us enjoyed our meal. Staff was great, steady refills and they allowed us to sit and linger once we all completed our meals for quite a while. Prices were extremely reasonable too.

My wife and I drive 70 miles round trip to Emmetsburg at least twice a week, mainly to eat at this charming restaurant. Everything about it is excellent including sparkling cleanliness and authentic decor, the decorated booths being manufactured in Mexico. Service is perfect in every way. Atmosphere is fun. Prices and specials are of highest value. They now have a beverage and dessert menu so we are able to "test" various drinks without seeming too naive! Owners and employees are super friendly, competent and sincerely nice. I get to practice my Spanish with them, and they freely correct my mistakes. We are fortunate to have this restaurant close enough to be within reach of our town of population 600. Highly recommended.
