Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Fr. Clayton and his knights welcomed our twin parish middle school group for a pilgrimage to learn more about St Rose Philippine Duchesne and to go camping on the St Mary Sugar Creek Mission park where St Rose lived. They really went above and beyond in their hospitality. It was a beautiful time spent, and their church is old and beautiful.

I have loved this church since I first saw it 26 years ago. It is such a beautiful Church inside with the local stones for its walls. The ursulin sisters painted the Stations of the Cross which are absolutely magnificent. Christ is the center of each station, it is almost as if each station is a portrait of Christ. They are so moving and so beautiful. I have never seen anything like them. There are also other paintings of St Rose Philippine Duchesne which are magnificent. There is a beautiful statue of Saint Rose also. The church is absolutely beautiful and so reverently made. I also love that the cemetery is right outside the door to the West. It is like the churchyards in Europe long ago. It is an absolutely beautiful Church anyone would be a better person for seeing this church or going to Mass here.

Sacred Heart Church in Mound City has been my church since I was six years old. I love going there. I love being Catholic!
