The Geographic Center of the United States

So we'll maintained and well kept. The marker from 1940 is there as well as a newer monument. There is a small chapel to go pray in. There is also a picnic area with a pavillion and picnic tables along with grills to cook on. There are no restrooms but there are public restrooms about 5 minutes away in town at the visitors center. Definitely a neat place to visit.

Nice place. Excuse to ride your motorcycle for a couple hours. Well kept. There is a grill there in case you want to cook something. Curious about the building behind this location. Looks like an old motel.

Outstanding and out of the way spot! Well worth the drive up 281.

Make sure to stop at LaDow's in Lebanon to get souvenirs and a bite to eat.

A great piece of Americana!

Coolness factor is high! Covered picnic area is a good spot for relaxing in the silence of the countryside. Not a man made sound to be heard. Able to photograph such a truly beautiful Kansas landscape. Spotless and minimalist, a small oasis of peacefulness and spirituality where land meets sky. The lovingly kept chapel was a welcomed surprise 🙏🏼🌹

Beautiful, but we did clean up others' trash laying around fixed and sew a flag placed it back at the tree. Can't stand how others can treat such a beautiful place!. Cute little church. And it smelled so good in there! Loved the music box. Beautiful melodies.

Being a student of history and geography for a number of years, this place was on my Bucket List. The tranquility of the rural setting, the palpable symbolism, and the moment of solitude I enjoyed in the chapel are reasons for this 5-star review. I drove 8hrs to get there and was worth it. If you find yourself within a 100-mile radius of this tucked-away location, take a few moments to visit and pause in the midst of the uniqueness of this country.

Very well kept. Just a few markers to see and a shutdown motel. Great stop just to say you've been there. Has a picnic area and small chapel open to the public.

I came to pray for all of US that is us as a people and the United States. I have been called to travel the country and pray and this was where I started. In the center or the heart one might say if the country. If you read this you know we our in trouble. It is time to change that mentality and grow as a people. This is a nice place to visit. Stopped here in July 2020 while visiting some high points in the Plains states. A very nice monument dedicated to America. Chapel is very nice too. Well worth it to drive off the interstate and check this place out. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time! my youth group had a trip up there just for a fun trip, and It was so fun! The chapel is tiny, quaint, and just a little bit echoey with all the youth around me, but fun!! And the Czech egg was so cool! I literally got a ton of pictures!! It's was so so fun!! Would definitely recommend!!

it's a ride from the interstate, but if you're within 100 miles you should go.

Windswept and lonely... the middle of America! A well maintained interesting attraction. This site sits at the end of what has to be the shortest state highway in Kansas K-191 at 1 mile long. It's a small trek to get here but fun and FREE attraction!

Ohhh, I'm exhausted. I've been driving for half a day. Kansas has never looked so strange. The land...so foreign. In the distance, a cow is mooing. Milking...a dairy cow, perhaps. My back aches...my heart aches...but my spirit...my spirit is resilient! Thank God I took a turn in Lebanon, and found... THE GEOGRAPHICAL CENTER OF UNITED STATES! Yes!

This is a well-kept park in a very out of the way off the beaten path area. Beautiful very tiny chapel, picnic pavilion, flag, plaque, but no restroom facilities.

Have visited this place twice. Once on my motorcycle and once traveling in a truck and trailer. It's been fun each time. Both times I met cool people there. I would definitely visit again.

I thoroughly enjoying visiting this place. It was a very nice sunny day but also very windy. Please respect the grounds and do not litter.

This is just a simple marker with historic info and picnic area. If you want a stop to stretch your legs and feel the prairie around you, this is such a good place to do it. About a 4 mile drive off Route 36.

I was called by the sprit to come pray in the center of America. It was about a 3 hr trip from home. It was a nice drive and a could day trip. Very peaceful at this site and a nice view of rolling hills. This country need prayer as we our in trouble. Votejesus20204 love Yeshua. Pray;)

Interesting monument in an interesting location. It is worth stopping by if you are in this part of the prairie. 🙂
There is much to consider onsite, and a good pavilion with tables and benches for a snack.

I've been to Barrow as well as Key West. This place was just as fun and unique for a geography geek such as myself. Not many people can say they've been to the Geographic Center of the US.
