Los Chimas Mexican Restaurant

We almost passed this place up due to the fact we thought it was closed. The windows are darker so the open sign isn't the most noticable. I'm so glad we double checked!

Establishment was clean and roomy. We ate a bit later in the afternoon so we avoided the lunch rush, but there was still several customers in and out.

The staff was super friendly and very attentive. Our food came out quick and absolutely delicious! The shrimp tacos, were some of the best I've had.

We will definitely visit again, if in the area. Recommended!

I hate how good this place is. The food was delicious and the service was awesome! The prices are great and they feed you a lot of food. I ordered Fajitas Bravas (steak, chicken and shrimp) was so good.

This was a welcome surprise. I ended up in Marceline to visit the Walt Disney hometown museum. I was looking for a quick bite to eat and Mexican is always my go to.

Honestly being from Colorado, I grew up with great Mexican food so wasn't expecting a lot from this place. However I was incredibly surprised. These tacos were outstanding. The service was good. I would recommend stopping in here for a meal.

The tacos El pastor came with a soup that I hadn't had before. It seemed to have pinto beans, bacon and maybe even A little bit of hot dog. I can't be sure. But I will tell you that it was delicious and I would eat it again.

This place is really delicious the best chips and salsa I've had in quite a while. I ordered the Fiesta plate, which comes with a taco choice of meat,a stuffed pablano pepper, a beef tamale,a tostada, an enchilada of choice of meat, beans and rice. Everything is fresh made there and was delicious.

If you think all Mexican restaurants are the same, you haven't been to Los Chimas!

I ordered a Burrito Mexicano and I was shocked how vibrant the flavors were!

My wife got the tacos pastor. They were bursting with flavor! SO GOOD! Worth the trip all by itself. We will be back!

So pleased to find these fine folks open on Sunday! We wanted to have lunch before the museum—baja tacos and shrimp tacos were perfect!!! @kimyarla

Classy service. Good food. Relaxing place to get together with friends and family. Large menu. I recommend the burritos and Chile Relleno.

This is an amazingly great place - not just for a town like Marceline - but anywhere. I’m pretty picky when it comes to American-Mexican vs. Mexican-Mexican, and while Los Chimas tilts toward the former, there are enough elements of the latter to make me happy. Like having rabanos y cilantro available for tacos and such, and not blinking when asked for them. The drinks look amazing (our friends had them - we didn’t) and everyone in our party of 8 was very happy with their entrees. So don’t let the small town in north central Missouri aspect keep you away from coming off of 36, or just making the trip to Marceline. Los Chimas is worth the drive and your dining dollars.

I just wanted to say I ordered a gordo burrito which has chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp, rice and beans and split it with a family member. I expected it to be more rice and beans forward rather than protein forward, but. 🤯 this burrito had so much tender, flavorful meat, I almost wished for more rice and beans to balance it out. 💕💕

We have visited a lot of Mexican restaurants in many different states and this one is the best! Great quality food. Great assortment on their menu. The BEST margarita flavors - I think the mixed berry is my favorite but so many are great. Love this option in our town!

Fantastic little mexican place with upscale dishes. Not your typical run off the mill mexican food. They have the basics too but our meal was plated beautiful, tasted amazing, and they were super friendly! We will be back for sure!

New favorite Mexican restaurant, absolutely delicious food..and the portions do not disappoint!!

I was delightfully surprised by how good the food was. You don't expect great Mexican food in the middle of MO. The chile relleno was big and had an excellent flavor. The taco, salad, and beans were all good. Their seafood enchiladas had a good amount of meat. I just wish they'd used green or red enchilada sauce instead of the white sauce, which tasted like bland alfredo. The flan... oh so yummy!!

Traveled from Virginia to visit family and found this place. What a find! Lots of different items on the menu not found at other locations. Worth the trip up from Salisbury.

Food, margaritas, atmosphere, servers and owners are GREAT! Our favorite local spot and best Mexican food in the state!

Our family had such a delicious lunch at Los Chimas. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful and the environment was very clean with scents of the yummiest traditional Mexican food. Prices were reasonable for our party of 4. Also our portions were quite generous. This is a must stop during your travel adventure. You will not be disappointed.

Unique interpretations of classic dishes. High quality fresh ingredients. Much better than most small town Mexican restaurants. Very good food, clean dining room, good service. We’ll worth the short trip off the highway.

My experience here is great. I like the owner what they done here with the place and food. They have friendly service and a great atmosphere. Great authentic Mexican food I believe is served here it's like a cuisine of master mind of food never imagine for Mexican food before. Would highly recommend goto for Mexican food.

Best Mexican place I’ve been to in a while. Must try the chimichangas.
