Old Family Farm Trail Ride

My family and I had the pleasure of joining Chris and her gang of gals on the trails today and had the best time! It was my kids’ first time trail riding and they loved it too. Chris and crew are very knowledgeable and funny with lots of fun puns around the trail. The thing trees gave us all a good laugh. The horses were beautiful and sure-footed on the rocky path and even the young riders felt confident with them. Stinker and Kota, the two farm dogs were so sweet and performed their jobs well and loved the belly rubs! Thank you to Old Family Farm for helping me celebrate my birthday and make it so much fun! We will be back!

What a wonderful experience! Such kind owners and well taken care of horses! Beautiful land and people, definitely worth it. I absolutely loved the horse I was paired with (redhawk) can’t express enough how fantastic it was!

This is the best riding experience I’ve had in Missouri. All of the horses were calm and so approachable. Their coats are so radiant, a VERY beautiful stable! The ride was scenic and the guides didn’t rush us through. This location has been in the same family for over 160 years! I would definitely visit more often especially since the weather is getting nicer.

Called on Monday and spoke with Chris. She was very helpful and super friendly. We wanted to let our 8 y/o granddaughter ride a pony for her birthday. We arrived about 45 minutes early but they didn't mind. After filling out the necessary form, she got on the pony and the trail guide lead her on the trail and told her stories about the horse. My granddaughter loved the ride and and wanted to stay and pet ALL the horses. I highly recommend them for any age that wants to ride. We will be back in the spring. The prices are very reasonable and a great adventure.

We went here to horseback ride. They have some beautiful, well behaved horses. The guides and owner are all so friendly and helpful no matter what your experience level! Great trails through the timber! Excellent views! Will definitely return!

Took my granddaughter (2.5 years old) her 1st riding experience and it was an enjoyable one. Nice trail for a beginner, the guide was experienced and helpful. Good job and thank you.

The owners were so kind and the rates are very reasonable. We paid $30 for a 30 minute trail ride. They have a longer trail ride for ages 7 and older. We spent time after giving the horse treats and meeting the other horses. It's a great way forbthr younger kids to get to ride a real mustang from the wild on the actual trail instead of just going in a circle. What a fun afternoon activity!

What an awesome experience! Horse handlers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Our tour guide T.J. went over everything we needed to know before riding, and made sure we were comfortable, and confident before starting. When we got back to the stables we were able to meet and greet many of the houses and give treats to the ones we had rode for a job well done. This is definitely a family oriented place and it’s easy to tell how much love they all have for these beautiful horses . This will be a place I continue to make memories with my family.

Our Family was here for a nice relaxing excursion. We had a GREAT time and would return again when we are in the area. The staff was all very knowledgeable and helpful. The horses are well trained and cared for at this facility. Our guide, Kat was great. Chris, the owner, is very nice. The Grand Kids, we’re able to ride “ponies” although they were the same horses we rode on our trip. Had a blast! Take the time and go out and relax and enjoy the beautiful area.

Chris has a beautiful property here. We had a group of 6 and all our horse were chosen for us individually. we had excellent trail guides, TJ, Frank and Ashley, that told us a lot about the area and some fun antidotes along the way! We chose the 1 1/2 hour ride and it was perfect! they were happy to stop for pictures and took them for us of our group at beautiful spots along the trail. We are all so very happy we found them! one of the most memorable outings of our vacation!

A great time was had by my kids and I . I’ve been riding for years but my boys it was their first time. The guides here very helpful showing how to control the horses they rode. Absolutely beautiful country. Again I couldn’t thank the guides enough for their expertise.

We took out 8 people ages 7-43. Ethan, Jay and Cricket were amazing trail guides! Chris, the owner, has a huge heart for these animals. The trail is challenging and gorgeous!!! The animals were beautiful and very well kept and trained. They love to eat!!! We went out for an hour. We were so lucky to have stumbled upon these kind-hearted humble people who are in this for nothing but love for rescued horses. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Very well cared for calm sure footed horses (I'm a veterinary technician and horse farm manager). Kat was a fun Guide and gave us lots of laughs! This family truly does a wonderful job caring for the mustangs and has beautiful trails to take guests out on. I highly recommend riding here if you are in the area!

Exceptional trail ride experience! Staff takes the time to mount and fit customers properly on the horses, very personable and clearly dedicated to the horses, beautiful wooded setting with quite a bit of hills to navigate so the ride is much more interesting. Will absolutely make an effort to ride here again!

My husband and I had a really enjoyable ride! Smaller groups made the experience more personal, and the stories along the ride were so funny! They really cared for a younger rider, and all the horses were well taken care of. Family ran business, not all about the tourist flair. We will go again! Bit muddy, wear some boots!

My kids and I had the BEST experience here!! The trail was absolutely beautiful, our guides were extremely fun and knowledgeable about the land, and the horses were so well behaved! I highly recommend coming here to anyone, it was a little hard to find but totally worth it. Cards are accepted which makes payment super convenient too.

My husband and I had a great time!! We did the 1 hour ride. The scenery was so beautiful and peaceful. We rode great horses, Timex and Sherman. Chris is an amazing guide. She has funny jokes and we really appreciated her taking the time to show us how to ride the horses. We definitely recommend going to Old Family Farm for trail rides. I've been to quite a few places to ride horses and this is one of the best ones I've been to. Thanks Chris!!

By far one of the best experiences I have had..Well trained and mannered horses..calm and patient..eased any slight hesitation I may have had..ready to back soon!!!
