I look for off-the-beaten path places to visit and this is one of them. I needed to stretch my legs and this caught my eye. Laclede is a quiet little town, and the Pershing site is peaceful and has a nice park with picnic area. Lots of parking.

We arrived too late to catch the tour of the interior of the home, but the grounds themselves are lovely and worth a stop. In addition to the home, there is also a schoolhouse structure on the site serves as a nice mini-museum.

Absolutely love visiting this place. The people are extremely friendly . If you want your children to take a big step back in history this is definitely a sight to see. It is also good to visit the John Jay Pershing Museum and other sites while you are in town.

A tiny town with a big history and a very nice honor to Gen Pershing. Even on an off day (the extra things were closed) we were impressed with the statue and surrounding things that you could see and do outside on your own.

General Pershing's boyhood home offers a rich history to one of America's most prominent generals who is also a native of Missouri! Also take the time to stop in at Pershing state park which features hiking and a great picnic area!

Went on a Sunday late in the day so tourist house wasn't open. Alot of great history here. Sat and read some of the wwI and wwII walls. Nice little history lesson.

By happenstance we found this place via the road sign on US36. All it said was Pershing Home and took a chance that it was Black Jack Pershing's. This was an amazing place and the museum housed in the schoolhouse that he taught in chronicles his life and is simply amazing. We were able to go through the home on our own and experience the entire park at our leisure. You could spend 10 minutes here or 10 hours. This unexpected stop was one of the highlights of our trip

Very well taken monument to one of America's General of Generals. A must see for historians and war-buffs alike. Just 2 minutes off of the freeway, totally worth it.

It may be off the beaten track but if you can, stop in to visit the boyhood home of General John J. Pershing. There's a small but informative visitor center with a small selection of books.

Here's a chance to see and tour Pershing's home; the general who chased Pancho Villa into Mexico in the early 20th century, and one of our heroes from World War 1.

Great exhibits that tell history of service. I was interested in learning more about his life outside military as well. Great staff

It has been years since I was there. Still looks the same as it did years ago. Missouri Conservation does a great job of upkeep the property.
