Pier 68 in Philadelphia is a delightful spot that has been transformed from an industrial past to a vibrant public space. It’s a place where the community can engage with the waterfront in various ways, whether it’s through fishing, lounging on the lawn, or simply enjoying the view of the river as boats pass by. The pier’s design incorporates smooth surfaces and angular geometries, offering a modern aesthetic that contrasts with the natural flow of the river. The addition of the Delaware River Trail has increased accessibility, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike who are looking to experience the Philadelphia Waterfront in a new light. With a perfect 5-star rating, it’s clear that Pier 68 has become a cherished part of the city’s landscape.

Went for my first run of the season this morning. It's definitely still a little chilly, 38°, but warm enough to work up a little sweat as you settle into your run. The fresh air at the pier is perfect to get you in the mood... #Spring #AlmostSummer

Yup. This place is absolutely amazing. It’s right next to the Walmart, Home Depot, shoe store, home goods, McDonald’s, a gas station, strip club, a really big road, train, huge parking lot. There’s a big river you can see Camden and be happy you’re on the side of the river. You can also see the Ben Franklin and the Walt Whitman Bridge you can see a garbage disposal incinerator across the way I’ll tack. Tons of buildings. The skyline. I’ll see you can see the Townhall and city downtown area of Camden. The water is delicious Lee metallic brown green. And there’s tons of seating tons of fencing so you can feel secure. It was from this very pier that I witnessed the battleship New Jersey be transported down the Delaware. Nice Pier, garbage path leading to it along the river. Good view of the Chicken Pier.

Breath of fresh air from the bums living on the adjacent pier. Get a good look into the crystal brown, putrid rivers as litter is blown about. Overall decent, give it a try next time you get groceries from Walmart.

Love this spot. Don't let the Walmart address fool you. This is a great little oasis on the Delaware for being in the city.

We had a very good dealing with the owner Mr. Jay
we were supposed to rent a pontoon but we had to cancel so we called him the day before and he was very nice with us and didn’t charge us any money on the credit card keeping a very good and happy attitude with us made us feel very good !
this person seems to be a very honest human being!!

I personally recommend making business with that company!

Such a serene place to go to sit under a tree and read or think. If you bring a blanket you can have a picnic. There are also tables to eat. The kids were able to feed the ducks in the water some bread. It was very cute.

Peaceful place to go and relax and catch and release for some peace of mind. A nice experience. I have taken many people here including many young men to teach them patience and how to just be in the world. We live in a fast paced world. Fishing with a nice view is a way to slow things down and appreciate life.

Great place to take the kids to feed the ducks. Very clean no riff raff. The pier was recently redone. Always a plethora of people down there from all walks of life and always very respectful of each other. I have been going down there for years and was so glad when something was done to it to make more family friendly. It's the only nice spot between Wal-Mart and Washington ave on the bike path.

I love the pop-up bar they open up every Summer. The drinks are super great, but the atmosphere is wonderful. There's all outdoor seating and hammocks available for people to lounge in outside.

Come feel the broad tidal Delaware River swell around you at high tide on South Philadelphia's community riverfront park, Pier 68. Come watch the vessels of the working riverfront: tugs, pilot vessels, freighters and tankers--ply the sinuous channel in front of you. Fishing is welcome (catch & release) so check out the pole holders in the benches near the edge. Or chill on one of the wide blue and white "W" shaped benches made to resemble mariners' moustaches of yesteryear.

Further ecological restoration is also planned for adjacent piers.

Also accessible by SEPTA (Columbus Commons) and the Delaware River Trail beginning at Washington Ave.

Nice place to hang out and eat whatever you bought at the nearby Walmart. Also invited for romantic time watching cargo ships and enjoying the sunshine. Fishing for the lonely is also permitted.

This is a great place to relax and watch the river. There are pleasant plantings as well as benches, and it's good for fishing as well. There is access to the Delaware River Trail, so you can walk or cycle down the trail and then hang out at the pier. The entrance is now partly blocked because of construction in the Walmart parking lot. The parking available is in the Walmart lot, and the restrooms to use are at the Walmart store and are open to all.
