We went geo hunting today and ended up coming to Red Bank to do 2 adventure labs. We ended up with 2 additional geo adds and a new park favorite in the books. We loved the park!
It was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and big enough where you didn't feel crowded.
There's also an added bonus-this is also a very historical place -There are signs in front of most of the historical statues/cannons explaining facts and what the past was like.
It was free to enter/free parking but I'm not 100% sure how it works and if it may change with peak season, etc.
It certainly won't be our last!

First, this place is historical, the old Whithall.homestead still stands. You have a great view of the Navy Yard, the planes landing/taking off from the airport, playground for the kiddos. There are also covered areas with tables where you can have parties. And then their are the sunsets!!! Which is my favorite part of the day to go. We have been going for years!! So we love this place! A good time for FREE!

Great place for the family with plenty of activities!! Including a large and small (for younger children ) playgrounds, a butterfly sanctuary that's enclosed that's open to the public at certain times of the week and day, a decent amount of literature posted on plaques around the park about the history of the battles that took place there, once in awhile have reenactments of the battle that took place there, tons of benches mostly facing the Delaware river for a fantastic few of Philadelphia city and the sorounding area's ( also of Philadelphia airport where u can see planes take off and land), can walk down on the shore of the Delaware river and can skip rocks to see who can have the most skips, the park also has a small Pier that is over the waters of the Delaware ( no fishing allowed) also have special events during the summer such as concerts, plenty of wide open areas for picnic's They also have large pavilions you can rent out for parties! ( can hold around 50 to 75 people) also have 2 fixed grills at each end of the pavilions for a total of 4 grills for each pavilion!!

I have been coming here as long as I can remember and have come full circle from coming here with my mom as a kid to bringing my granddaughter here to picnic and play.

They have done a great job over the years maintaining the site and adding to it. There are a good variety of really nice paths to walk.

I am speaking from the point of view of someone with severely limited mobility. I was able to get around the entire park on my electric scooter by using the paths. There was also a handicap stall in the bathroom but it was a bit tight in the bathroom.

They had a separate small playground for the little ones under five years old which was really nice. They had plenty of picnic tables and two pavilions that can be reserved.

Aside from all of that this is a historically significant property. You can tour the house at the heart of the property. This is also a waterfront location which is really nice.

My only complaint and I don’t think they can do anything about it, they are over run by geese and therefore we couldn’t walk anywhere without stepping in their feces.

We will definitely bring our granddaughter back here and come back here to walk.

Okay so this place is pretty special to me. I used to come here with friends when I was younger. My husband and I come here a lot to take walks and it's a really nice place if you ever want to just park and look at the water, have lunch or just watch sunsets. So that being said, this place holds a lot of good memories for myself and my husband. Definitely worth going down there to check it out.

One of the most beautiful park in NJ. I didn't know that we live in vicinity of such a wonderful area. It's called a national park, don't know why as it is not that big.

If you really want to enjoy the place come here in the late afternoon in a summer day. The setting sun creates such a phenomenal play of light and shadow amidst the lush green surroundings. The sunset hours looks mesmerizing at the Delaware water front.

You can do get together and arrange party or play or do picnic. There are play area for the kids also.

I had an awesome afternoon and would definitely come back again.

Wonderful view of the bay, usually a very nice breeze during spring and summer. Plenty of distance for walking plus it's nice for the historical value.

This is a great recreation area. Clean and maintained (I saw someone collecting trash and checking bind at least five times in the 2 hours we spent here), wide open spaces, acceptable restrooms, mature trees, river shoreline. There is so much history, too. Great place to start a conversation with the kids. The kids enjoy the playground area and a perfect place for a sun set. On beautiful days, expect to park a few blocks away, it popular and with good reason.

Had a pleasant time looking out over the water, enjoying the evening view of Philadelphia. It was a hot day, so we sat on a bench under a tree, watching the boats on the Delaware River go by & the active wildlife that surrounded us.

A historical park with some nice places to walk. A good place for an adventure & a photographer! It has a nice relaxing tree to sit against. Some interesting things to find if you just look around. There’s a set of stairs with painted butterflies on it. The lake behind the building has a small beach to walk on and it’s a nice place to watch a beautiful sunset. There’s a statue, cannons, a brick building. There’s no pets aloud so don’t come here if you’re coming to walk with your dog. Otherwise it’s a beautiful park! It’s definitely one of my favorite parks.

Stopped by on my way somewhere else. Stayed. Didn't make it to the somewhere else. Kids had a blast at the playground and we ended up having a picnic. The house tour is fantastic. Wish they had a gift shop there. Great place to visit

Beautiful, large park with shaded walking paths. Right along the river and you can see planes coming and going from PHL airport. Playgrounds and a picnic area. Not too crowded on weekdays. We love it here!

Really nice walking path along the Delaware river. They were upgrading the steps to the upper area so they take care of the place. UPDATE the steps look great! The museum is open and it's new roof is great. The Canadian geese eggs hatched! Nov 2022 the grounds are well taken care of. Some weekends have special events. Security patrols the grounds very efficiently.
