What a beautiful place to visit for either the day or stay for a few. Plenty of walking trails well marked, lots for RVs, lots for vehicles with picnic tables and water hook up for the fire pit, cabins to rent, playground and fields, a lake where swimming is allowed as long as life guards are on duty, restrooms in a few areas as well. And don't forget to bring your pup along, mine had a blast.

One of my favorite spots to hike, camp and kayak. One of the most affordable campgrounds around. I've only ever camped at CCC sites and they come with firepit and a picnic table. Kayaks can be rented by the hour for very cheap (charged after you return) or bring your own to use on the lake. Swimming is available in the lake with lifeguards during the summer. It gets super packed during the in season though. Hiking is free if you use the trailheads outside of campground. I believe there is about 20 miles or so combined total worth of trails to walk at this park so plenty to explore.

The forest was quiet and very peaceful. I was lucky and got site 23 which had the most shade I could see out of most campsites and most by far of all the ones on the water. Some sites are pretty close to the road but this one was push back a bit which was nice. The bathrooms and showers were clean and stocked. I will be back again!

We camped here in the last week of august 2022. It was a great park some fish in the lake nummy but most parts are too shallow to catch anything you almost need a boat to get to the deeper part. We stayed in a Lean too which was very spacious and clean. We very much enjoyed our stay. If I could give a 4.5 out of 5 I would simply because as you can see in my pictures some of the educational signs along the trails are spray painted over and have been for a while I understand its not the parks fault but it would be nice if those were replaced. Even the ones that weren't vandalized were weathered and at times hard to read. The bathrooms for the campers were cleaned daily and there are wash and dryers available for coin operation. Overall very satisfied with our stay at the Belle plain campground.

The park structure is really good.
The restrooms always clean.
The rangers are helpful.
The sites are spacious with water, electricity, tables and fire pits/grills.

Lean to was warm and comfy. The supplied grill, picnic table and fire pit were convenient and exceedingly useful. The other campers were actually pretty quiet. The distance between the lean tos offered some privacy.
The bathrooms were stocked with paper and easily accessible, but they kinda need some updating. There was a little stink in the air and I opted out of using the showers too. Look, it's camping, you're in the woods, and I'm ok with that. Don't consider this complaining, but rather constructive criticism.

I enjoyed my visit and I plan on going back again in the next few weeks.

This is a State Forest that is tucked into a quiet area in Woodbine, NJ. It was such a great day we decided to explore it. They have a camping area, also with cabins, a lake you can swim in summertime, lots of ducks in the lake this time of year, and hiking trails. The fall colors of the leaves are not quite there but managed to get a shot of color. It's a peaceful place to be this time of year to gather your thoughts. I would highly recommend it.

One of the nicer campgrounds I've been to. The price is about average at $40 per day (as of July 2023). The website says $35 but there's an additional $5 registration fee. Still not bad. That includes water and electric. I don't think internet is included but I have my own so I wouldn't know. My cell phone had service as it's not to far from civilization. There are nature walking trails, kayak rentals and the usual stuff you find at a campground. There is also a laundry facility and of course toilets with showers. This place is in one of the nicest areas of New Jersey near Cape May. The only downside was the sand. Be prepared for sand everywhere. Bring a heavy doormat to wipe your shoes. Will most likely return here some day.

Thank you Maryann for informing us what type of turtle shell we found! We found out about this place through family last year and have been coming since! Campground is always clean! Bathrooms and showers not bad at all! Everyone respects one another here and makes the stay so relaxing. Sites on the north shore side are large. Never stayed on other side. We have a lot of choices when it comes to parking our 32ft camper. Well if you know what your doing. I would suggest staying on the outer ring of campground only because there are tighter turns towards the center of camp if that makes sense. Some sites offer beautiful access to lake right off your site. Lots of easy trails obviously watch out for ticks. You can swim in lake when there’s a lifeguard, rent a canoe or kayak, ride your bike, star gaze at night! There is a concession stand where you can get “cooked” food. Even a cute nature center where you will find Maryann! She is such a sweetheart, willing and able to answer any questions you may have! Even the officers that patrol are very friendly! Wish I lived a little closer but the two hour drive is so worth it! Can’t wait to return!

Great little forest related area with campground, lake, trails, swimming, playground. It is run by the Parks and Forestry Dept I believe. Small fee to enter certain times of the year but generally it's a nice place to hang out with the kiddies.

Folks started taking me with them as scout leaders taking the troups there amongst other parks. I've always thought of Lake Nummy fondly. Took my daughter for 5 days at a primitive camping to teach how to do it. Been camping on her own ever since. Take your family, friends and children. You'll have a good time in all seasons

This is one of my favorite State Campgrounds. It's quiet, clean, and the rates are one of the cheapest campgrounds around. The bathhouses are always clean. Several bike trails and walking trails, they have pavilions for big picnics and a area just for star gazing.

It's a great place for vacation. We came during Memorial Holiday weekend. We took some of the trails and walked around the lake. Water is pretty clean. Everything maintained very well.

I've been camping on the lake at Belleplain State Forest with my skoolie 'The Rambler' quite often this summer. It's quite a nice break from working insanely busy weekends in OC and dealing with the heavy influx of people the past two years. The locals need a break too. Belleplain has been a perfect getaway for me.

Great family experience. The campsite has a fire ring as well as a picnic table. They have bathrooms with running water in designated areas as well as showers even. Campsites are far enough away from each other for a little bit of privacy. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Tons of bike trials, lake is Finally open (post covid) but the swimming area is very small, especially on a busy weekend. Campsites are clean as always as well as the bathhouses.
