eNRG Kayaking

My brother and I signed up for the Santiam 1/2 Day trip a few weeks ago. NRG, LLC was on time, geared us (totally unexpected) with odd & ends to better get us ready for getting soaked (we used their jackets, booties, etc. in lieu of what we found in our closets), they are personable, professional, and we had a very memorable & AWESOME experience! Chris, the owner & shuttle driver, took dozens of action photos at various waypoints in our trip & offered them to us at a very reasonable price at the end of the trip. Our guide, Max, was a TERRIFIC guide - making what he did look easy, and it's not. Calvin, though not our guide and on the other raft with a group of ladies, was also quite a personality. All in all - would definitely do this again! They also offer a 30' cliff jump at the end of the trip which my brother did. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE that we'll never forget! Thanks so much, NRG!!

I had SUCH A BLAST with the crew from eNRG for raft guide training this weekend! I started out knowing nothing about the river, and these true experts in the field coached me and encouraged me the whole way through! Such genuine people and good community here.

We had an absolute blast rafting on the Santiam river with the ENRG team.

We met with Nate and Brock at the shop. They made the entire process simple and fun from start to finish.

I’d highly recommend ENRG.

I took my 2 kids (around 10 yrs old) here for our first introduction into rafting. Our experience was extremely positive. eNRG - pronounced "energy" in case you missed that - or "en-rug" by GPS, has a few locations (Portland area, and then this one down in Mill City).

Dave (the guide at the Mill City branch) was great! We got in touch with him to organize the trip because we weren't able to make a time on their online calendars work (they can accommodate special days/times with advance notice, even do multi-day trips). We really enjoyed the trip - Dave gave good pre-launch instructions (including safety), and then pointed out hazards along the way in between discussions of local fishing, etc. Dave was particularly good at engaging the kids in the discussion - so an extra kudo for that!

For kids under 12, the only option is the "scenic" route which has Cat 1 & 2 rapids. This turned out to be perfect, though. The kids had fun, and left the experience wanting to go back.
Like the other reviewer, we'll probably try the kayaks next time - and then be back again for the Cat 3 and 4 when the kids are old enough!

Having an experienced guide on our initial trip was well worth the money spent for the peace of mind.

The crew at eNRG are the best! They really take care of their customers and obviously have a genuine passion for getting people on the water regardless of their skill level, physical abilities, fears, etc. They make sure you’ll enjoy your trip, learn a lot, and stay safe on the river. We’ve used this location a few times and always have a blast.
