The Overlook Restaurant

We went there on the spur of the moment. Restaurant was not that busy because we were there about 3:30. Excellent food. Excellent service and brought a meal home for later. Highly recommend this place. The view was gorgeous and just a bonus to the service and food. I even told the server that she always had a smile on her face AND that was worth the trip!!

Very busy even at 2:30pm, but gave us buzzer and we took in the beautiful view from their decks so all was fine.

We are not from area so took advantage of fried liver and meatloaf dishes we don’t typically have access to at home and loved them. Very reasonable prices as well!

Beautiful view and a wonderful meal. The chicken was fresh, baked potato perfect and had blackberry cobbler a la mode for dessert.

Love this place, the view is amazing. The staff are very accommodating and polite and the food is just like my grandmother used to make. Definitely would come here again!

Truly an Overlook Restaurant with the best comfort, home cooked meals in the area! The view atop of the Ohio River basin is amazing! Try their fired chicken...it will keep you coming back. BTW the berry cobbler is incredible!

This could be your grandmother’s favorite restaurant or the restaurant she owns! The food is classic homey fare, prepared perfectly and served piping hot. Chicken livers, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, white gravy and even the dinner roll…homemade and delightful. Service was friendly. Watch the river and enjoy the charm.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It's in my top 5 . I have been here many times before and I have never had a bad meal.
If you're looking for a different place with great food and casual dining this is it!
The Overlook is a gem . Everything is homemade. From the Fried Chicken, meatloaf and ribs to the homemade Coconut cream pie and Bread pudding.
The view overlooking the Ohio River is high from the banks and is mesmerizing and beautiful.
This is all in the small town of Leavenworth, In.
Take a day trip and have fun.

Worth the drive as a destination or a stop off the interstate. Great food great views!

LOVE this restaurant! The view of the Ohio River is amazing, and so is the food! Ty, our server was great. He made suggestions, checked on us, kept drinks filled, and knew the specials and desserts very well.

Our very attentive, thorough and friendly server, Jess, couldn't have been more professional. Needless to say the views were wonderful and entertaining. The food- I ordered the beef Manhattan- was delicious, flavorful and fresh but more than I could eat. We didn't have room for dessert but they offered plenty of fresh choices including a pecan pie that was a special today. Should have taken a couple of slices home. Coming from north of thrre, it was definitely worth the drive! Can't wait for the weather to warm up some so we can eat outside on the deck.

Our Hostess and waitresses were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing but I have to admit the Chocolate Cake was the best cake I have ever eaten. Oh WOW!! So good. I would go back tomorrow just for the cake. LOL my husband and I brought friends over from KY to celebrate her birthday. It was her first time here and she enjoyed everything. She was blown away by the beautiful view. The birthday girl moved here from Georgia a year ago and only her 3rd time to Indiana. We all will be back for more. 😀 SOON!! We had reservations for Mothers Day. The Staff had a table ready when we arrived.
Everyone enjoyed the food.
The Meatloaf I ordered was huge and fantastic.
It was probably the best I had eaten ever.
Service was prompt and friendly.

Loads of great choices on the menu. Something for every mood and taste. Great view of river. Attentive friendly staff. Delicious meal priced reasonably! We'll definitely make a return trip. Also stopped at the General Store nearby, which was really interesting!

My wife and I stopped by for dinner on our drive home from sightseeing. We both had chicken sandwiches with fries. Mine was grilled, and my wife's was fried. The food was delicious, and the service was great as well as the phenomenal view of the Ohio River.

Beautiful views of the Ohio River. Probably every table indoors and outdoors has a great view. Our party had lunch food. I had a massive BBQ bacon cheddar burger with onion rings - both were very yummy 😋 Friend had fried cod fish sandwich and remarked it was excellent and had 2 filets for one sandwich. Another of the party had the mushroom and Swiss burger and also said it was great. The restaraunt is known for fried chicken dinner and home made chicken pot pie. The service was friendly and very good. Will definitely go again, 5 stars.

Great place! Ordered a Hot Brown Special and Mom's Meatloaf. Both were very good. And the views are entertaining and memorable of the great Ohio River.

Best food around. Always eat too much but it is so good. Servers are always friendly and helpful. We drove 1 hour and half but would do it again. Thank you.

Delicious homestyle food. I had the signature meatloaf. My boyfriend had the pork chop. It was covered with fried apples and was so tender. Great service. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful views of the river.
