We love coming here! Hubby loves the chili, which is saying something since he doesn't like anything with spice and this has the slightest level of spice. It's very flavorful though!
The staff are all very nice and the prices of the food are great for how much you get!

Loved the calamari appetizer and their fish and chips and tartar are amazing!

We chose two cups of clam chowder and garlic cheese bread and it was excellent. They also serve fried green beans we want to try on our next visit. Great place to eat and visit the beach, very friendly.

Chowder Bowl is a great spot on the road down to the beach access at Nye Beach. Good classic sea food fare. They have a solid menu and wonderful outdoor seating. The 1.5lbs of steamer clams are generous with toasted sourdough bread. The clam chowder is a quality chowder, great mouth feel, enough clam flavor, notes of celery, bacon, and black pepper.

Food was very delicious. My table ordered fish and chips, shrimp and fries, along with clam chowder. Service was very quick- our food was out in no time. Very friendly staff.

The Chowder Bowl is our go-to restaurant when we visit Newport, Oregon. The employees are very friendly and welcoming as soon as we walk through the door. They are very busy, and they have a waiting list at times. There are several tables inside, and they have a pet friendly deck with plenty of seating outside. Parking can be a challenge. We've had to leave and return at a later time in order to find an empty space.

The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! Their prices are very reasonable considering it is on the coast. They have plenty to choose from on the menu if you are looking for seafood, burgers, chili, salads, etc. You can also order to go.

We've enjoyed several different dishes during our frequent visits to Newport. My favorite is the popcorn shrimp basket. The garlic bread is not included, but you can order a slice for less than $2. I also love the chili and fish & chips. They changed the way they prepare their chips (fried potato slices) a while back, and I think it makes them taste much better than before. My husband is a fan of the clam chowder. He says that it is a must-have when visiting the area.

I highly recommend giving the Chowder Bowl a try if you are in the area. We've never been disappointed!

The Chowder Bowl came highly recommended by the front desk clerk at our hotel. It was in a quaint part of town right by the beach and walking distance from our hotel. The food was amazing, the service was lightning fast, and the staff extremely friendly. We got a bowl of chowder to share, I got the fish tacos with mango salsa, and hubby got the fish and chips. The fries were unique and delicious. There wasn't anything we didn't like about this place and highly recommended it. With two lemonades and tip, we spent a total of $55.

We went for the cod fish and chips. We were happy to find that they are thick-cut pieces in light batter. They weren't too greasy and they give you a nice portion. The fries were curled slices and were really good. They weren't too busy at the time but service was excellent. The restaurant has a nice outside deck area, and plenty of seating inside. Really good!

I searched Google and found it because of the high ratings. The clam chowder soup here was really good. The croissant sandwich with plenty of shrimp was also very fresh and delicious without the fishy smell. The hamburger patties were also juicy. As the customers continued to come in, the restaurant seemed obvious.

The food, atmosphere (outdoor seating when it is nice out), and the service were all amazing! We only wish we had found this place sooner! Everything we ordered was delicious, and we were told they clean their fryers every night, so you won't feel sick later after the delicious fried fish and chips or the awesome potato poppers! Enjoy!

In comparison, this was such a better picture experience than Mo's, which we had the day before. We kept true to everything we ordered before. Our Calamari appetizer was bigger, not burnt, and better. Our fish and chips were better. Their chowder is more seafood and tasty salty chowder than just a potato soup. We were served constantly and our glasses never became empty. The chefs even come out on occasion to check on guests. Overall, we will be driving extra for our seafood restaurant experience from now on.

first time i've ever had a table squeegeed for me before

there was a decent amount of outdoor seating. it was raining earlier on the day we arrived. the staff was happy to dry off our chairs and table for us (see above).

paid parking was available fairly close by.

sevice was quick and friendly!

we tried their chowder and fried seafood platter. both were decent but needed some extra salt.

prices seemed quite reasonable for what we got. would be happy to come here again and try their breadbowl and other things on their menu.

Walked into a relaxing and bright deck area.
Servers are friendly and warm. Recommended that I add onion to the chili I have ordered. It's so good.
If you like chili this will not disappoint.
Chowder has small chunks of potatoes and a good amount of clam. Taste really good.

This has to be the best claim chowder we have had this trip! The fish tacos were ok and were missing some flavor. Fish and chips were good. We will be back

Everything was great. This was dinner in winter and only a few tables taken. In spring/summer, might wait an hour outside before getting a seat. Still wort it.

We got the clam chowder and the calamari. Both were some of the best I’ve had. It’s super close to the beach which was so fun to walk on the beach after. Perfect place for our dinner!

Title: A Cozy Culinary Haven: The Chowder Bowl Review

After a foggy day, there’s nothing more comforting than a bowl of steaming, hearty chowder to warm you to the bone. The Chowder Bowl delivers just that - a deliciously rich and satisfying experience that feels like a warm hug in a bowl. Their chowder is not just food; it’s an experience that encapsulates the essence of comfort food.

The flavors are well-balanced, with a creamy texture that is neither too thick nor too runny. It’s filled with generous chunks of fresh seafood, potatoes, and vegetables, each spoonful offering a taste of the sea.

But let’s not forget about the calamari, which deserves its own applause. Sweet and delectable, it’s a testament to the chef’s ability to prepare seafood to perfection. The calamari is tender, not rubbery, with a delightful crispness that contrasts beautifully with the chowder’s creaminess.

I ordered the slumgolian chowder bowl topped with tiny pacific shrimp and a slice of their garlic toast for take out to enjoy back at my resort. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was quite yummy and the portion was generous for a great price! Can't wait to tell my friends

This place was amazing! Everything the reviews said it would be. The atmosphere is very family friendly. Our waitress was awesome. The prices are so much more reasonable than a lot of places around. We all left very happy. I don’t mind spending money when you leave a place satisfied. We will visit every time we go to the beach from now on!
