Pretty High Kitchen

Best restaurant in Lviv (of the roughly thirty we tried so far). The food is impeccable, the ambience is both unique and fantastic, and the staff are superb.

Nothing much more to say, really. The concept here is very simple: you give the cook a framework within which to operate, e.g., "giblets, but no brain, and make it spicy" and let them do their magic. We have been here four times now, and were never disappointed. Quite the contrary. The food was always unique and very tasty.

So, we cannot possibly recommend this restaurant quite enough and consider it an absolute must-have experience whilst in Lviv.

One of the best culinary experiences ever. Fantastic service from Andrii, great and attentive discussion with the chef who helped us to choose our meals and food presentation, preparation methods, quality of ingredients and taste combinations were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended. Unfortunately I was driving that night so couldn't try their wine list but I will be back again soon to taste more.

Delicious dishes, our chef was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Atmosphere is very cozy and homey.

I've enjoyed all kinds of meals at many fine restaurants, this was one of the best meals I've ever had, and that includes back in Toronto Canada where I'm from.

The location is fantastic, the decor, the music, everything is just perfect. The staff are very friendly, and attentive.

I love the concept of having no menu and the chef coming to your table and asking you what you like, I've never had that before, it's like having your own personal chef. The portions are large, and delicious, I didn't have a single thing I didn't love. When I was in Lviv this was my go to restaurant, I still dream about those dinners.

You can literally order anything you can dream of and they will prepare it fresh for you. Do not let the name fool the prices are very reasonable. Dinner with steak tartare and a pasta with vegetables and steak in a cream sauce with water and coffee was around 1000 UAF aka 25. This meal would be double the price in Budapest!

It’s the best place in case you are eager for new cuisine experiences or tired of being offered similar styles of dishes in every restaurant.
They will give you what you want and you will never forget this experience!
They have no menu so, you should point the staff for a direction to go or not to go in terms of ingredients and they will take care of the rest!

This is a High quality kitchen. If you want to have an unusual meal choosing experience - this place is for you. They don't have menu which makes it more special and with accordance to your needs and preferences.

The best part is - they always surprise you. It's always tasty and they make sure you have a good quality time.

I love the interior of the place. It looks super cozy during the winter, with charming music and warm lights.

What was also very appealing is that they don't have a loud noisy advertisement shouting "come and eat here". It was a challenge and adventure to find them, and when you do, the treasure that waits you there is even more appreciated.

Yes, there are no menu! You have to have a vague or specific idea of what you want! If you enjoy a custom made meal or you like a pleasant surprise - this place is for you! You can have your imagination run wild here!

On the contrary, if you like to have a set menu and you enjoy pictures in the menu. In other words - you don’t know what you want until you see it. Don’t wary! Their waiters are very knowledgeable and will help you make a great decision for the meal that you will enjoy.

💲Prices. I would say price is a bit above average. They are not expensive. You get big portions. 🙂 Waiter will give you the price during the order. So, you can always modify your order if you think price is too high. Or, you can set a budget and let waiter figure out the perfect meal for you.

WOW! THIS WAS AMAZING! My friend and I went here for our last dinner together in Lviv and were a bit skeptical if this would be the right place, and were nervous what the prices would be like. First, the atmosphere sealed the deal. As soon as we walked in, it felt PERFECT! So cozy and comfortable. Amazing lighting and music and a perfect volume. The chef spoke English, and created one of the best meals I’ve ever had for us. Vegetarian!!! It was so perfect! The creativity and taste were out of this world, and the prices were very fair. The service was the best we experienced out of anywhere in Lviv. Also, the music is on vinyl which is awesome! Overall, a wonderful addition to Lviv and one I hope to return to many more times!! GO!

Very interesting concept: if you are looking for a traditional menu with clear categories and prices this place will be the wrong one. But if you love improvisation, new experience and food — must visit! The atmosphere is nice, so is the interior. The main concept is “no menu”, qualified cooks will chat with you for a while and come up with a unique meal specially for you. Don’t worry, they will tell you the price once the meal is finalized. We had a salad and a pasta, and both were delicious. Definitely recommend!

The restaurant has got quite an unusual concept - no menus and you just have to match your imagination with what a chef can actually cook with the available products. I was looking for any part of a duck and I was not disappointed with a duck leg. My companions did not know what they wanted and followed the chef’s recommendation with fish dishes. But I guess one would need to be sensible with the expectations... I overheard a person at the table next us where a guy wanted to order spring rolls and had to find a consensus with a chef on a substitute which I understood he was quite happy with ))) overall very interesting experience, great food and you can bet it is not precooked ))) and don’t miss to have a cocktail on the terrace with a lovely view. By the way a bartender does a great job with cocktails

There is no menu. Instead, a cook comes to your table and and you can choose whatever you wish to eat.

We were skeptical at first but then surprised with a high quality of every dish.

I can strongly recommend this place.

And it's not so expensive at the end. There's a lot more pricey places in Lviv where you cannot it that good.

Unique concept with multiple chefs that you get to meet and consult on your food order. There are no menus here. The only limit is your imagination. I’ve been here multiple times and have always been impressed with the food quality and professionalism of the staff. the cocktails are also well made. A must visit in Lviv! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I knew I had to come here when I read about the concept: no menu, the chef comes to your table and together you decide what you will eat. We found this so fascinating, and enjoyed wondering how on earth you would run such a restaurant!
We came without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table. Service was fast, lovely staff, good drinks too. We both had vegetarian meals (I did sense a bit of disappointment from the chef over this) which were excellent, and he gave us a delicious starter for free too.
I could definitely see myself eating here regularly if I lived in Lviv!

A unique place where you can order almost anything. Some dishes were truly delicious, others were just fine. Prices are reasonable.

Atmosphere was so great for a relaxing enjoyable dinner. The chef somehow took my likes and interests in food and made a meal I was savoring as if it was my last. The staff treated you in such ways that you can’t help but just not want to leave.

Probably my favourite restaurant during my visit in Lviv! I'd recommend booking in advance, especially if you're a larger group. If you stay indoors, there's no menu - you just tell a chef what you'd like, or just give them a direction and let them surprise you. (If there are no tables inside, you might get a table on the roof, but there's a menu.) Attentive service, pleasant and creative environment.

For a city known for its culinaric adventures, the High Kitchen takes it to a new level. The atmosphere is beautiful, and if I would be writing as food critic, I would write an long and passionate essay about the food here. You just have to try it!

Fun place to dine in away from the weather. No menus and no prices, but affordable $$-$$$ meals. They ask what you want to eat, and how you want your food cooked and what ingredients you want with your meal. Open kitchen with food prepared as you watch. Very attentive and friendly staff. The entre served is somewhat of a surprise and tasty.
