Shade Lounge

Was introduced to here by my girlfriend's parents. I think we went nearly every day. Really nice people, great atmosphere and location and amazing cocktails.
They also keep bringing really tasty crisps which I have been unable to stop eating.
The restaurant upstairs is also very nice.

Been a regular at this bar for a few years now, and you will be warmly welcomed by Hash and Charlotte and their team, most ably assisted by Osman and his equally attentive colleagues. We also ate a meal upstairs tonight at their new restaurant and the fillet steak with Roquefort sauce was fantastic. This was the best of 5 fillet steaks I have eaten in the 8 days I have been here, and would thoroughly recommend it. Reasonably priced beers and cocktails- my missus recommends the Mud-Slide. Top-notch experience from start to finish! Welcoming staff who generously brought water for our dog. Wonderful views and incredible food. We had salmon salad and they served it with style. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Highly recommended!!

We are staying in Patara and yesterday to take a trip into Kalkan for the evening and happened upon this absolute gem. Having strolled the length and breadth of Kalkan’s streets - and having been invited in to every restaurant en route (!) - we went back to Shade Kitchen after a drink In the botanical garden. We decided on this place because the menu looked good, they had a roof terrace (we didn’t want to be eating on the street) and the chap outside was extremely polite. We were instantly impressed. Ushered upstairs and asked to sit on a comfortable corner bench while the owner finished serving a couple already dining and then attended us. He could not have been more polite and welcoming. The venue was spotlessly clean and picture post-card perfect. The tables simply, but very elegantly laid (nice quality cutlery, plates and glasses). We were worried perhaps that the food would be fairly average but delighted that it was anything but. We had the mixed cold mezze and courgette fritters to start (*stunning), followed by sea bass / meatballs with aubergine purée, tomato sauce and rice (*exquisite) and then we both had the Baklava which was the best I think I’ve ever eaten…. (apologies to my many Greek friends who would be appalled at my admission). Two bottles of the nicest turkish wine I’ve ever had (Sauvignon Blanc) and we left ‘as happy as Larry’! Simply the best dining experience I’ve had in Turkey. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, we couldn’t have wished for better food and the dining experience was really beautiful. I have to say even the loos were spotless - often something that is overlooked and I came away feeing they’d taken great care to consider every aspect of their dining experience. We’re going back later this week to dine their again we enjoyed it so much; really couldn’t rate it more highly in my point of view.

For amazing cocktails, great food and an all round fun night out, Shade is a must visit whenever you’re in Kalkan. The owners and staff make it a really enjoyable experience that will make you want to come back again and again.

Shade bar is excellent... My Brother Graeme has a place out in Kalkan 🇹🇷 such a gorgeous place scenery & views to die for ... The owner of Shade is amazing so polite ,friendly I told him my name once & when we stopped by for our evening cocktails he Always said good evening Sally as he pulled out a chair for me to be seated... The cocktails are absaultly 💯% delicious.

Excellent food with excellent service. Also a great location for a drink as it's directly on the cobbled street.

Fantastic bar in an endearing little Kalkan side street. Very welcoming. Great service and reasonable prices. Good for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the main old town streets. Food isn't served here, allowing the owner to focus on what makes a great bar.

A great bar with friendly hosts and friendly staff felt like a local in a great location handy for the harbour and all the other restaurants. Great for people watching on the outside seating. See again Charlotte and Hash 👌🏽 x

Great bar, was made very welcome and really felt at home here ,always a smile from staff and could always get food sent from bar next door ,will be returning in June this year so get the cherry juice ready Ash
