Bogazkoy Muzesi

This museum has a small collection but has a few unmissable items. The original sphinxes from Hattusa are here, making it an essential stop for a visit to the archeological site. As of January 2024, admission ticket was 70tl.

A lovely little museum very well presented and modern. Entrance fee was not too expensive. We visited after the Hattusa archaeological site. It had information about the site excavations. Their was loads of curious relics and information boards and displays about the original inhabitants way of life. Their was some of the tablet writings that were found too and some were translated. My favourites were the 2 sphinx from the site. They had an outside area and toilets too. Very interesting and definitely worth visiting after Hattusa site.

Amazing…

Small museum with an incredible collection dating back to 6000bc. The Hittite kingdom artifacts were remarkable. The entry was a good value. Some of the artifacts included objects from the Hattusa site where replicas are on display.

It is really good to have a museum in town nearby the site. Some good pieces can be visited.
