Mercy Hostel

Honestly the best hostel I have stayed in ever. Great price, Super friendly and helpful staff, clean bedrooms, toilets and lobby area. Free breakfast (eggs, toast, fruit, coffee). The bedrooms have AC, comfy beds. Small shallow Pool to relax in, Pool table, cards, board games. The only negative I have is that the mosquitoes can he brutal in the lobby and smoking area.

I definitely recommend you stay here. You will meet lots of friendly people going to Laos by boat or by bus.

10/10 would stay here if I come back again. Not sure how it's classed as 2 stars I would say at least 3.

Really good common areas, great food options in walking distance.

Staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Power was faulty in the room, please get it checked out. Made my laptop charger and power bank not work, cheap to replace but still annoying.

Power in the lounge area worked fine.

We loved it here. All the rooms were clean and spacious with great privacy. The common area was lovely with free food and drink available at all times. All staff were amazing especially Shaun! He was super helpful, friendly and hilarious, he made our stay!! Definitely recommend here!

Probably the best hostel in Thailand for me so far.

The rooms are large and spacious. The lockers are big enough for large bags.
The bed is HUGE with great privacy curtains, plug sockets work, bed is comfy and cosy. Some extra space to the side of the bed which is just a nice touch.

The pool is a nice little cooling off and chill out area (not big enough to swim in).

The staff were great.

The guests were friendly and chatty.

Really liked it here.

One the best hostels I stayed in my whole trip in Asia. You can make your own breakfast - they have bread, eggs, fruits that you can take, as well as coffee and tea.
Nice common area with a pool table.
Cheap laundry.

Mercy hostel is fabulous!
This was our second time here and we can't praise it enough.
The rooms are spotless..the whole place is super clean as the staff are always cleaning/ tidying.
There are snacks and drinks available all day, and you can make yourself eggs and toast in the morning.
The location couldn't be better, and they will help with taxis, buses, hiring motorbikes etc. as well as tours.
The best part are the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay!
Thank you guys, we will see you next year!

Great hostel, nice staff, always clean. Only complaint is you can feel the springs on the mattresses.

Free toast with butter, jam, and chocolate spread plus bananas and lil oranges all day. They also have hot chocolate! Not just coffee and tea. Eggs for you to make 6am until noon every day also.

Good deal on the 2 day slow boat that's about the same price as if you do it on your own, except this one the van picks you up earlier in the morning so you can make it on the boat the same day vs having to stay a night in the border town.

Really great hostel, location is ideal short walk into the bars and restaurants but away from the noise. Lovely rooms and great social areas. They also provide snacks for your room and in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

The staff here was so kind and welcoming to us! The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. They also have a help- yourself kitchen in the lounge area that is convenient to have. Jessie was amazing and met me at the bus station to bring me some things I had left behind. Thankful for her generosity and help!!!!

This hostel might just be the best hostel that we stayed at in SE Asia. We only stayed for one night since we were passing through, but if we had the time we would’ve booked another night here!
It’s no party hostel but super clean! We had very good and friendly service in good english and the rooms and showers were very clean! Beds are also very comfortable. Best of all is the free breakfast that you can cook yourself, really unique and cool for a hostel!
And a good pool table, which also is important :)

We had a private room and we were surprised how big, clean and well equipped it was. Also there was a small breakfast which was free, a cool chill out area and the staff was super helpful with helping to organize day trips and our tour to Laos. We would definitely come back!!

Best hostel we’ve stayed at so far in our trip! It’s super clean, very sociable but not party party and they give you FREE SNACKS. My boyfriend left his wallet on our transfer bus to Laos and the hostel actually managed to get it back and send it on with another couple from the hostel getting the slow boat the following day. Couldn’t recommend this place more, thank you everyone at Mercy!

closer to airport and at the centre of chiang rai. i really loved the experience. staff is nice and rooms are clean. they also have breakfast and free snacks. met some cool people there as well.

Wonderful place, clean with big beds and big lockers. Theres a nice outdoor area with tables and a wading pool. Theres also games and a nice common area as well as a full kitchen

This place is top notch. Shaun was so extra helpful and this place has everything you need for comfort. I highly recommend

This is a great quiet hostel that checked all (or most of) the boxes. The rooms had pod style beds with privacy screens and comfy beds/bedding, plugins in the pods, air conditioning, lockers, and were clean.

The bathrooms were huge and clean and separated by sex, which was quite nice. The showers were hot and soap/shampoo, a hair dryer, and feminine products provided, and there was a separate area to get ready. Nicest communal bathroom I've ever had in a hostel.

The hostel itself was clean and modern with a common area with a pool table, eating tables, and comfy couches. The kitchen was supplied with all the cooking necessities, including a fridge. Free toast, biscuits, tea/coffee, and hot and cold water were provided, which was a very nice touch. Wifi worked great and was fast in my room. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The only thing I can think of that would have been nice is towels being provided, and the pool being in working order. The location was also somewhat out of the way, although this did make for no highway or city noises.

If you're looking for a comfortable hostel that is quiet (absolutely not a party hostel/not very social, which was a nice break for me) with great service, I would highly recommend it.

It's a little hidden away but this hostel is in such a handy location, very clean and modern, the bathroom facilities are not only massive but split by gender which I know some solo travelling women prefer. The dorm was immaculate and the lockers were big enough for my massive backpack which is always great. The lounge areas and kitchen were so nice and handy and Jessie, who helped us store our bags, checked us in and gave us recommendations on where to eat was so lovely! All of the staff were very friendly and smiley, I would definitely recommend this place 🙂

Best staff ever, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Best place to stay, you will not be disappointed!

Pros: Great place, nice small gym, free beverages, some of the most comfy beds in Thailand.

Cons: pool is in shambles, no atmosphere to connect. Could do with more of a family vibe, the rooms could look a bit more cozy instead of modern.

A super friendly staffs who so helpful with all convenience.
Nice and clean place with an interesting living space.
Quiet and cool air-con, Good spot to take a rest.
