This restaurant took me back to my childhood. Simple with a smile.
Kao soi (northern noodles) was tasty but the sauce was a little watery for my personal taste. But ate it all!
Prick Uah (stuffed large peppers) were so good ordered second helping.
There is no air conditioning and it is all under a house open the way it was 50 years ago. The plates are enamelled white with blue edges. All authentic but not pushed. This is northern food in Bangkok but you want to feel what it was like this is the place.

Authentic Northern Thai Lanna cuisine located inside Sammakorn Village (across Paseo Town Ramkhamhaeng). Every dish was delicious & every Staff team were so friendly & helpful. There are English speaking Staff members & they will provide a Receipt printed in English if needed.

We just tried 'Huen Muan Jai' restaurant in Chiangmai a few weeks ago. It was also a Michelin Guide restaurant for the past few years & we were very excited that we found 'Maan Muang' with the same, if not better, authentic Lanna cuisine within 15 mins from our place! A definite must-try if you love authentic Northern Thai dishes.

Khao Soi Noodle soup here was a level above the Khao Soi we had at the Michelin restaurant in Chiangmai. Soup base was a lot more flavorful with a clean finishing taste.

We've been to many restaurants in the same Village but this is definitely our Top Pick. Will definitely go back to try the rest of the Menu!

*There is a big outdoor market (covered roof) by the entrance of this village. Great for shopping & finding local eateries on the way out. Parking lot available across the market.

Authentically Northern Thai foods, tasty and variety of rare dishes you could find in capital city. This place won’t disappoint you.

A little bit out of the beaten path but it was worth it. Such a great and cosy restaurant with a wide selection of food. The staff was verry helpful and quick to bring the order and the dishes were delicious. I am gonna visit this place more often.

Khao Soy was very delicious. Flavorful and authentic. Atmosphere was also very nice. Everything was very clean and the northern-style decorations were a nice touch.

Why is it the best Northern Thai Food restaurant in Bangkok? Taste and variety.

Firstly, taste. If you want to try as authentic taste as you possibly can of Northern Thai food, look no further. This place really deliver on taste. You cannot be disappointed. Sure, not all dishes are sublime, but overall, they do deliver as close to an experience in taste and presentation as you can get in Bangkok. Anything better and you’ll have to fly to Northern city of Chiangmai to experience.

Secondly, variety. This is one of the few Northern Food restaurant in Bangkok that has ALMOST everything Northern Thai food has to offer. The selection is extensive. They even have seasonal dishes with more exotic vegetables and meats (red ant eggs, anyone?) on offer. Again, as close to a Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai experience without flying there.

The price is reasonable too. Not cheap but reasonable for the quality and variety you are getting. (130-180THB/dish or US$3.50-$5.50). Portion is normal for Chiangmai but may be small for foreigners. So one should order 2-3 dishes per person. And why not? That way you will get to enjoy more of the flavorful offerings and try out the extensive variety of Northern Thai food.

Tasty and spicy northern Thai food in Bangkok. Guarantee with Michelin guide.

This place serves realy authentic northen (Lanna) cuisine food. It looks like a montain cottage from a century ago, but the athmosphere is relaxing and the people are very nice (at least since the new management has taken over). If you like northen food and are reluctent to drive to Chiangmai (where this king of restaurant and quality is difficult to find) then you will enjoy this restaurant. The pricing is afordable and if you're lucky, you can park nearby.

An original and rare northern style Thai food. Some menu can't be found even in the local market. Traditionally delicious (less sugar and oil added). The resturant is a traditional and real house which would has been brought from the northern of Thailand to be reassembled here.

Delicious northern style Thai food. Price is reasonable. They served very nice fried chicken and other spicy dishes. Love the fried bamboo caterpillars too! A place recommended by the locals too.

Nice outdoor northern thai or chiang rai style cuisine. Although the foods is a little more expensive but they serve very nice and delicious northern thailand food. The taste of the food is moderately spicy which I believe everyone can enjoy it. As the restaurant is outdoor non air conditioned please be prepared there are mosquitoes around. This restaurant also display many old and vintage plates, bowls and utensils. The chair and table is also made of wood and give you a nice locally feel. The cups and plates that they use is also vintage and unique which come be found back in the 80s.
