Wat Luang

The oldest temple in Ubon, constructed completely in Year 1791 (BE 2334) 19 and 9 years after Ubon city and Bangkok established respectively, by Vientiane Monarchy lord refugee who escaped from royal conflicts. Therefore, the temple built in local ancient Vientiane style. This is good place for making a praying and viewing somehow interesting ancient architecture.

Very calm cool relaxing place with lots of shaded areas. It overlooks the river and has a nice mixture of garden areas and Temple buildings. It was constructed in 1791 by the first Governor of the province. Nice large refectory area with wooden sweating

I liked the temple. An old man who spoke good English showed me around. So I saw the old wooden bells which I might have missed otherwise. Nice Location with several small temples. Quotes from Buddha and Ajahn Chan, the founder of the modern "Forest Path" tradition, are posted in Englisch.
