We were happy to spend 10€/night (total) for a simple yet functional room.

The internal garden is a great asset of the guest house, silent and ideal to relax despite being in the center of Chiang Rai. Just a few meters away from a lovely street full of bars and the Saturday night markets.
The lady gave us advice on what else to check out and how to handle logistics for our transfer to Chiang Mai.

Close to city center, night market and bus terminal. We came late and check in after office working hours and checkout before, but with customer service we’ve been in touch, regarding to keys and payment. Stayed there for 2 nights, enough for Chiang Rai city, while we only slept there. Recommend :)

Tim and company were so lovely! This little gem is tucked away in a quiet area just off the beaten path! Lovely garden area and comfortable, safe rooms! A hidden gem!

Baan Bua Guest House in Chiang Rai was a great place to stay during my trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with any questions or concerns. The location is central and just a few minutes' walk from the bus station, making it easy to get around. There are also many cafes and restaurants nearby, providing plenty of options for food and drinks. The rooms are cheap, basic, but very comfortable, making it an excellent value for the price. I highly recommend Baan Bua Guest House for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Chiang Rai.

Really affordable accomodation (we booked online for less than 500 baht a night), very good location - walking distance to all the markets. Very clean and lovely staff. Garden setting in the middle of town. Room ammenities included fans, A/C, hot water, desk. A/C was not super effective but good enough to sleep comfortably.

We had such a nice stay here!! The owner is so sweet, the garden is wonderful, so much flowers, so peaceful! The room are big and comfy, it’s very quiet and yet close to everything! We would definitely come back!

Great location near city center. Big nice garden. Rooms are simple but clean (cleaning every second day). Breakfast (at extra cost) with a good choice (Muesli!). Staff is outstanding friendly, always helpful planning your journeys to beautiful surrounding areas. In case of need bookings will be arranged (even to Laos). Toilet water is brown sometimes (see other comments), so you better don't drink it. Water from shower (warm) is clean.
Don't know any better place to stay in Chiang Rai. I come here since over 20 years now and have never been disappointed.

Great location, in the city center, about 5-10 mins walk to the night market. yet it's very quite and cozy. You don't hear any traffic or any noise. Tons of restaurants and messages places surrounding the guesthouse.
You can pick as many mango as you want off the garden. They are sour (be prepared 🙃) I personally love it 😍!

This is a wonderful place to stay in Chiang Rai. It's centrally located near the Jet Yod temple, just a short walk from the bus station in the center of town, yet it's in a nice quiet pocket of the neighborhood, far from road noise. You can hear the birds all around the garden, making for a soothing and relaxing environment. The garden is beautifully kept and adds such pleasure to a stay here.

The room we're staying in has no AC, just a fan, but with the big screened windows and two screened doors, there's enough ventilation to be comfortable. It's also nicely decorated and very clean. The bed is made up with a top sheet, which I so appreciate -- that is a rarity in Thailand and indeed, in other Asian locations where we've traveled, even more so for a budget hotel, which is how Baan Bua is priced. Nice towels are provided, too.

We've had one breakfast here so far, and it was excellent. My husband enjoyed his omelette and toast, and I had fresh fruit with yogurt -- the fruit perfectly ripe and the yogurt just right, unsweetened and not too tart. Really a perfect meal, and it held me for hours.

The staff here are delightful. They provide excellent service, and their smiles and greetings as we come and go make us feel very much at home.

I highly recommend Baan Bua for an economical, comfortable stay in Chiang Rai.

Great location, handy for Night Bazaar, Bus Station, Walking street. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and quiet, it feels secluded, even thought it's centrally located. The staff are friendly, smiling and helpful. Breakfast is not included in the price, but a reasonably priced breakfast can be purchased and eaten in the garden restaurant area. If you want no frills, clean, comfortable accomodation in Chiang Rai, you won't find better than Baan Bua.

Went here for 1.5 nights after finding a bug in my bed at another place. The owner answered the phone and let us check in at 1:30 am. She was so kind and I loved that it seemed like a traditional home. BED BUG FREE!! Which is rare in northern Thailand. Has a room with a bunk bed as well. Fan and air con rooms to choose from. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend!

Right in the heart of it yet on a small quiet soi. Staff are very kind and the grounds are beautiful. Flowers everywhere. Will be extending my 10 day stay most likely.

Auntie’s home is such an authentic Thai place. We really enjoyed our staying there. We are family of four, so sons can have their oun bedroom, but still one of bedrooms stayed empty as there are 4 bedrooms in the house. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers, what we found very convenient. Place is just near the center, few minutes from bus station. There is a londary just around the corner. There are towels and shampoo included in the price..All rooms have aircondition, there is also a fridge and some amneties to make coffee or tea. The only thing I would add is mosquito nest on bedrooms windows. The host is very nice, she will help you with everythong, she even arranged for our trip to Blue Buda, Big Buda and waterfalls. At the end she even took us to the bus station. I highly reccomend this place to you.

Very cosy place with a large and good looking garden, where you can have breakfast prepared by the host. The rooms are tidy, the host welcomes you with hospitality even if you arrive during the night. They have fast WiFi, motorbike parking and a couple of tables standing in the shade of palm trees. Reasonable price and quality.

My wife and I stayed here and the people, the room, the bed; everything was clean. We stayed there a month ago. I left a previous review where I noted the room we stayed in did not have sure conditioning. I thought all the rooms were like that. I was wrong. I booked a room through a booking agency and i mistakenly booked a room without air conditioning, so it was my fault. They do have access. Ok just didn't book one. Nice people. Clean. Inexpensive. Breakfast for a few dollars. Nice place.

Perfect place to stay, nice service, we arrived late and she welcomed us like a long time no see family. Clean rooms, 400 bahts per night with AC, in a little home near the garden, which is so chill! Thanks for those nights and to have called a tuktuk for us!
