Best Must Do experience! Had the best guide, ToTo. First stop sticky waterfall; great experience. The second stop was the bamboo rafting, also a must do. Amazing lunch in a tree house followed by an amazing day with elephants. Definitely a lifetime experience! A must do!

After reading many positive reviews. We chose Blue Tao for our visit with elephants while in Chang Mai.
We were picked up from our guest house and driven to the sanctuary. There were 11 of us on the tour.
We mixed up food balls for the elephants, then walked over and fed them. We then took a hike walking alongside the elephants. We stopped at a river so the elephants could be bathed. We used a scrub brush and a bowl to soak and clean them.
We hiked back up to where we started, fed the elephants and had lunch. It was nice to sit as a group and exchange stories with the other guests.
We felt this was a positive experience. The mahout’s were professional and caring with the animals. Our guide took as many pictures as we liked and was informative the whole way.
With a few days left in Chang Mai, we may do this trip again!!

The absolute best elephant sanctuary tour you can do! The elephants are really happy and you can see it! You go to waterfalls, prepare food for the elephants, get kissed by the elephants, get hugged by them, and go bathing really close with the elephants. Its an awesome memorable experience. Additionally the guide is superb with good English language skills, nice insights and after the tour you will eat a very good lunch. They pick-up you at hotel and drop-off at the hotel. The best tour and friendliest service I ever got.

This was such a unique and sweet experience! You can tell everyone at Blue Tao Elephant Village cares very much about each of their elephants. Our goal was to find an ethical elephant excursions and I'm glad we found this one! Our guide was Lida - she was so patient, kind, and took amazing pictures of us!
I will say, the full-day excursion is a long walk. Honestly, longer than my soft Wisconsin body could take lol! If you're looking for a hike, the full-day excursion is for you. If you're looking for more of a leisurely (but still very hike-y) time, try booking a half-day. Also, I highly recommend wearing nice hiking boots that you don't mind getting wet!
Thank you, Lida & Blue Tao, for taking care of us and your beautiful elephants!

We had an amazing time at this Elephant Rescue Center. Although we booked only one day in advance we got picked up by a really good driver. As we arrived we prepared some food for the elephants and fed them. We did a short hike to a waterfall and enjoyed bathing with the elephants. At the end we had a really good dinner and such good memories!

We had a fantastic day at Blue Tao in the company of Mr Billy our guide and of course the elephants and their keeper. It is pretty obvious that the elephants are well treated and loved by their keepers. Impressive and quite easy going animals that you can really approach and interact with.. Pretty amazing stuff to be so close from those gentle giants. We took the full day tour which was a good choice I think, it,gives you time to discuss, interact and go for a nice lunch and dip in the waterfall with the elephants. Very peacefull and interesting experience. We loved every moment of it !

We had a great day. The camp is waaay up in mountains. It’s a beautiful, quiet spot with rice fields and gardens. The guides were very friendly and helpful. The interaction with the elephants was great. The were kind and patient. I would highly recommend this tour. Keep in mind you’ll it’s about a 1.5 hour car ride up to the camp. It’s worth the drive.

Wow! I can't say enough about this experience. We had Mr Nat as a guide, picked up 9 of us from our hotel, he was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. The reserve was gorgeous and the elephants were very happy and well cared for. We had an amazing homemade meal prepared for us when we came back from our elephant care. Had a great time playing with baby Valentine! Blue Tao is amazing, don't hesitate to book it while your in Chiang Mai!

Today's experience was absolutely amazing, and I can say these elephants are very well taken care of and are not forced to do anything that would harm them in any way. We spent the day walking along them through the jungle at their own pace, stopping everytime they wanted to eat or drink or play in the water, or throw mud and leaves at themselves as they love to do. We prepared a treat for them and fed them too, but other than that they just ate whenever they wanted to as we walked. None of them are ever tied or kept in small spaces, but there is a new born baby kept in a different spot with her mom, until they are able to roam around too (she is only 1 month and a half years old, and still breastfeeding, she is very playful and you could see how much she loves and trust the keepers!). Every elephant has their own keeper and they are all super nice.
They gave us lots of water, and we had a pic nic in a tree house overlooking a waterfall where we later bathe in with the elephants, and left as soon as they wanted to. The food was amazing, and plenty. Our guide Toto was great and answered all our questions. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a great experience where they don't mistreat the animals and they are happy. We did a full day and it also included the (very long) ride to and from our hotel in a great car with A/C.

I would highly recommend taking an all day tour here. Elephants are treated right. No riding them. At the top of the village there are restrooms and running water. They let you walk the elephants down to a water hole where they have lunch provided for you and then you wash and play with the elephants in the water. Unforgettable experience!

Amazing time alongside the elephants and their trainers. The elephants are very well treated, this place has all the characteristics of a true sanctuary. Moreover, many thanks to Nuka she is a wonderful woman and she will make sure that you are having a good time. :)

I am speechless, this was such experience I will remember for the rest of my life. The area is very remote from people and elephants can live there in peace. We left with a feeling that this is a place where they take good care of the elephants and they do not force them to do anything they don’t want to do.

Superb time with Nouga, our host( I don’t know if I spell it right ? ) and the 3 Elephants Sensei.

Only me and my girlfriend, really did spent quality time with elephants.

Did same experience 3 years ago, we were 16 peoples, and it was absolutely nothing compared to Blue Tao in terms of immersion with the animals. ( back then it was s*** to be honest )

I recommand “chaudement” ! 👍👍👍

Had a great experience, what a wonderful day! Loved to spend time with the elephants, and the animals seemed to be treated well. We had our own wonderful guide as we booked a full day private excursion, but to be honest, I could have skipped the bamboo rafting.
