I recently had the opportunity to visit the Kerchor Elephant Eco Park and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The staff at the sanctuary were extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of information about the elephants and their conservation efforts. The lunch provided was basic, but this is to be expected as the focus of the sanctuary is on the well-being of the elephants rather than luxury for visitors.

One of the things I appreciated most about this sanctuary is that they do not offer elephant riding. This is a huge plus in my opinion, as it shows that the sanctuary truly prioritises the welfare of the elephants over tourist activities. Instead, visitors are able to interact with the elephants in a more natural and respectful manner.

My personal highlight of the visit was hand feeding the youngest elephant, a 3 year old, and getting to play and bathe with the 6 year old baby in the river. It was such a unique and special experience to be able to interact with these gentle giants up close and see how well they are cared for by the sanctuary.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Kerchor Elephant Eco Park. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn about and support elephant conservation, but you will also have an unforgettable experience interacting with these amazing creatures.

Amazing experience. The guide was super and the elephants so sweet and looked very happy.
I advise to wear a warm jumper if you go in the morning, as until 9am it's cold. Then it warms up and the temperature is good.

A very good experience. The guides were very friendly, and informative, and kept it cheerful. We were provided a top to wear on top of our clothes. First, there was an education session on how to approach and interact with elephants, then we were shown how to prepare the herbal ball for elephants.
Then we were taken to elephants, and given sugarcanes to feed them. The meet and feed session was quite nice. The elephants were very friendly. There were 2 adorable baby elephants. The guides helped to take good pictures of every group of tourists. You even get to buy a framed copy later on. Frames are made of elephant poo paper.
Then it was time for a mud bath. Strongly advise you to take a change of clothes if you think of participating in this. After the mud bath, elephants are taken to a nearby stream and you can participate in bathing them again.
Then you clean up, and head over to the entrance, where you are given fried rice and soup. The soup was one of the best we had. Then we are dropped back to hotel. We returned before 1pm.

A very nice experience, with elephant care in the morning, lunch, waterfall visit and bamboo rafting in the afternoon.
All activities very nice.
The lunch might be improved however

Went for a half day to spend a couple hours with the elephants and the timing was perfect for me. Any longer likely would have been tiring personally. We got to make some herbal balls, feed the elephants, and bathe them. Afterwards, we were able to rinse off and were served some food before heading home. The elephants were adorable and looked like they had fun taking food from people/splashing people. Most of them were pretty social and amenable to photo ops as well.

The elephants constantly tried to graze everywhere. So cute. They were just like big puppys. I washed them for free~ :) But It was very funny.

It was a wonderful experience to feed the elephants and bathe with them. We had a lot of fun and got the opportunity to take some amazing photos. It's wonderful to see how these people live together with their elephants like we do with our dogs and cats. This was so much better than what you would get in any zoo.

I also enjoyed the explanation at the beginning, the history of the Asian elephant in Thailand and the relationship with the people. Learning the elephant language was also really fun and we learned a lot about elephants throughout the whole tour. The host made it very interactive and interesting. I think there is a lot of value here if you are willing to listen.

I participated in the package tour which is booked online on KKday. The tour guide is very nice and professional! She'll teach you how to speak the elephant language which lets you kindly interact with them. You can feed and play with elephants. It's a valued and special experience for me. You must go here when you visit Chiang Mai. I highly recommend it for you.

Happy elephants’ home. Very good, professional and joyful tour; it totally worth the ride to get to this elephant sanctuary and interact with happy and unchained elephants.

the activity in the morning was very fun, include feed the elephant and help elephant for shower, but the activity in the afternoon i will not recommend , the activity is takeing the bamboo floating ,we didn’t wear the security vest ,and the boat didn’t have the handle, our boatman skill seems not vary good, so our boat hitting the big rock ,and the boat have a bounce back , let cause my brother fall into the river ,and his glasses fall too .the phone was broken ,because soaked into the water for too long .and the boatman didn’t even apologize.

Had a great experience, the tour was enjoyable as we get to interact with their elephants, bath them and see their ‘playground’.. no riding on them of course! Lastly they give us fried rice dinner before we head back to the city 😋

Btw our guide was so friendly and informative, he gave us an intro on how to communicate with the elephants (apparently they’re trained to understand several words) and took pics and videos of us

Enjoyed my time here. The elephants and trainers look like they really care for one another. Otherwise, we might have them fruit kind

We booked with them last minute. They were very accommodating and we had the place to ourselves. They treat the animals very well and they have lots of space to run and play. The elephants seemed very happy which in turn made us very happy.

Our guide, Fah, was excellent! Her English is great and she was a great host! 5-stars for this place!

We booked the full day with the elephants, great day out with very friendly and informative staff! The lunch we were given was great at the local restaurant. The elephants are treated very well and have lots of space to roam the land.

We loved our trip to the elephant eco park. Everything was well organized. Started by making some herbal medicine food for the elephants, then went on feeding, walking, cleaning the animals. Everyone working there was really nice, especially to the elephants. The group was not to big (ca. 12 people). We can highly recommend going there :)

Visited Kerchor Elephant Park today, for the half day tour. Brilliant experience. Amazing to be up close with such big majestic animals. Lovely staff and the elephants appeared very happy. I would recommend this to anyone. Remember to bring swim wear, clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and a change for going home.

From beginning to end this was a wonderful experience! The booking and price was great! The pick up ran very smoothly and comfortably. Guides offered bathroom facilities and water before beginning. Our guide "F" did a wonderful presentation about the nature and origin of the park as well as the relationship between the Karen community and the elephants where they are part of their family. We also learned words to speak to the elephants and made medecine balls for them. We then fed sugar cane to the elephants, roamed through a walk with them, interacted with them in a mud bath area as well as in the river. There were many opportunities for lovely photos and the guides were helpful with this. They handled the elephants with kindness and respect at all times. The provided tea and coffee as well as lunch were simple but very good! We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend!

I had an awesome experience here today. About a 45min drive from Chang Mai but completely rural with beautiful natural surroundings. The place itself is family run and they take great care of the elephants. The elephants were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy; rolling around in the mud and playing in the water. The guides were very informative and chatty. They brought for a lovely local restaurant nearby for some tasty Thai food. Excellent way to spend a morning 🙌🏼
