This place is exactly what you can expect from a hill tribe village homestay. Beautiful rooms done sustainably to their values, food served on order with traditional Thai style…. Plus you get to enjoy fresh organic drip coffee every morning and enjoy slow living. For less than $15 per night this is a 10 star place.

It’s about 50km out of city and you can truly enjoy the beautiful countryside on the way to here. Plus you’ll be staying 30min away from Doi inthanon.

If anyone looking to get away from city life, reconnect with them and nature this is the place to visit. I love it so much I’ve decided to move here.

The host and her family is very helpful with recommendations and facility. They also encourage us learn to down and enjoy the moment. I think we get so conditioned to be entitled and demanding we forget how to see life as it is and enjoy the moment.

If you choose to come for a night or two, come and say hi. You’ll most probably find me in Homestay cafe or at my house doing my coaching work. Maybe I’ll show you around the village….

Amazing place. 10/10!! Such a beautiful quiet spot away from the business of tourists and the city. What makes this place special is you will really get an experience of living the culture of the area, as opposed to a usual touristy experience. And you can still visit elephants and go to waterfalls! A must do.

Simple but very nice cabin. For this price including breakfast-amazing. Small and local village. Not touristic at all. We did one day Elefant farm and one day a beautiful walk to the big Buddha. Nature, peace. Nice experience!

We really enjoyed our stay In Nongtao Homestay!
The owner is really nice and helped us organize volunteering at the village school. Everyone in the village is also very welcoming and it’s a pleasure to share moments with them.
The bungalows are cute and clean, food is delicious and the environnement is breathtaking!
Thank you for your hospitality!

First of all, do not put any high expectation if you are a city girl/man that hopes to get an AC or Hot Shower running here. This is not a 5-star hotel but a sweet countryside homestay which is perfect for those who wants to getaway from the city's life. I love my stay here and tottaly enjoy it. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT! Not forget to mentioned that you could enjoy a beautiful sunset while staying here, the village's vibes is really great. The owner is nice and sweet. I will definitely come back :)

The Village lifestyle homestay! The owners couple is very warmly welcome and like a family. So generous and kind. We got a nice memory there. The food is good and the place is warm. Fully recommended for homestay with a warm heart.

Fantastic experience. So relaxing. Great experience for a local Karen village. Very quiet at night (they had a little school festival at night but it ended early).

Was quite cold at night but they gave us two big blankets.

Traditional Rice Soup in the morning with some fresh passion fruit.

Perfect experience for such a good price.

Oh, just one thing to expect. No warm shower.

Love the location. Love the people. Great place to stay if you're in the area. The bungalows are cheap and comfy. You can enjoy a drink by the campfire at night. Just ask the host for whatever you need and she can help you.

We were a little nervous about venturing so far outside of the city, but our short stay at the Nongtao Homestay was honestly one of our favorite experiences of our three-week stay in Thailand. We only wish we had stayed longer!

The property was beautiful and our little bungalow was absolutely adorable. The bed was comfortable and there was lights/electricity in the room at night. There was a mosquito net around the bed, but we didn't notice any bugs at all. The temperature on the property (we were there in late November) was also perfect - about 10 degrees cooler than in Chiang Mai. We slept like babies and didn't even need the fan.

The property has a cute little common/restaurant area a short walk from the bungalows that offered food and drink and there were a few small shops nearby that offered additional options. The food at the restaurant was simple, but very tasty and the facilities seemed clean. There was a small group of fellow travelers staying in the neighboring bungalows, so we enjoyed a quiet night hanging out at the little restaurant and chatting over drinks - all-in-all it was a great night!

Soe's English was quite good and she was very helpful, working with us to arrange tours and transportation. She even gave us a lantern in celebration of Yee Peng and our honeymoon, which was very special and a beautiful touch. We had a wonderful time during our stay and would highly recommend!

Nongtao Homestay was without a doubt the most special experience in our 3-week trip around Thailand. It's an ecotourism gem, with an incredible host. If you're the adventurous type, just do it!

Remote getaway in beautiful Nong Toa mountains. Yes there is not a whole lot out there, but the homestay offers many different activities to keep you busy, and really it's just a great place to go if you just want to get away from it all. The rooms are clean, and the bed quite comfortable.
I had such a good time I ended up extending my stay for an extra night!

Beautiful spot in a genuine Karen village. Perfect place to relax, find peace and authenticity. If you see a sweet black dog around, give him a lot of love and treats, he is the great lovely “Chester”.
