This hotel is pretty special. The staff are kind and helpful. It's not super homely because it's quite a big place, but it is like paradise. The breakfast was impressive because every dish was high quality and tasty. There was plenty of variety, from yoghurt, to sweet potato, to good Thai food, to all the usual breakfast foods you'd expect in an international hotel. The foot spas and hot spring and pool are all lovely. It's great to walk around the grounds and go down to the River Kwai. The room is gorgeous because it's 5 star quality, feels expensive, but is still homely. I absolutely love light but I thought it was good that the room was slightly dark because this helps it stay cool, it feels cosy, and it's great for a rest from the bright Thai sun (I live in Thailand and I'm not immune 🙈). Thank you, HomePhutoey!

Love this place, stayed second time in 2 years with my husband. This time we booked a private “villa” with our own hot spring bath and it was just the experience we needed to start our vacation. Everything from the bed to patio to restaurant on site was just right. The pricing at the restaurant is very reasonable and the dishes are delicious.

Reading the reviews saying that there are spider webs and such - well of course, you are in nature! This is a signature sing of good eco hotel. We loved it and saw some interesting creatures outside our room. And of course, you better drive a car, not a taxi, to enjoy Kwai River surroundings fully.

We stayed for 3 nights in April and LOVED it.

- large food portions and very good (order Thai food) and lower than Bangkok prices
- beautiful hotel (don’t miss sunset)
- free unlimited water and ice!!!
- very clean, pristine rooms

Amazing cost/deal for the area and it felt luxurious. The staff were so kind, the other guests friendly, the rooms clean and relaxing, the sunset photos by the river were WOW.

This is a lovely resort in a beautiful location. Some of the 1/2* reviews here make me realise what a desperately spoilt race we are. The staff are kind and willing, the pool and hot bath relaxing, the food is good enough and the prices are fair. One complaint I saw was that the road in should be upgraded! Because it was too bumpy!! Another that the cicadas are roo loud!! Seriously? It's hilarious. Go visit Hellfire Pass and find out what a hard life really looks like and then come back and relax in the pool, have a cocktail and a nice warm meal and go to sleep in a very comfortable and well appointed room with a comfy bed.
It's a 3* resort that punches above its weight. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful place. Considering the location, I recommend renting a car to be more flexible on visiting sights such as Erawan, Hellfire pass, Mon village etc.

Earlier reviews show that the employees were not adapt at English, but we could communicate just fine. So don’t worry! Absolute hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Please do note that the prices in the resort are a little higher than usual, but this can be expected due to its relatively isolated location.

Recommend to stay here 10/10!

The resort truly felt like a hidden gem, nestled 2km away from the main entrance. While it's a perfect location for those seeking a peaceful retreat, it might be less convenient if you plan to venture out frequently. The ambiance resembled a national park in the heart of the forest 🥰.

The rooms exuded a spacious, wood cabin charm. Notably, the resort boasts hot springs—both for relaxation and a pool connected to another spring with stunning views of the mountains and lake, a major highlight. The restaurant, divided into two sections, offers an outdoor setting resembling a cliffside bar table overlooking the river and mountains 🥰.

The resort provides ample space for trekking, and there's an added bonus of complimentary canoeing and paddling on the nearby lake. For those seeking adventure, the Tree Top experience with 40 stations and numerous zip lines is a fantastic option for both kids and adults 👍.

Despite a minor issue with a leaking bathroom faucet (in need of maintenance 😅), the prompt response and repair were commendable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and a return visit is definitely on the cards ☺.

A beautiful resort with many rooms to choose. A nice area with a lot of green and flowers. Some small ponds and a big one where can use a kayak for a small tour. Attractions to book are also available. Our room was very clean and really nice - separate toilet and a nice shower, TV, small sofa, terrace with furniture. The room looks well cared.
Staff always nice, good breakfast with a great selection of different things... for dinner or lunch is also a good menu available with many drinks, cocktails and wine... nice view at the river.
Hot/cold pool also available, including towels.
100% recommend
We will join again

Had such a great stay here to start off our vacation in Thailand. The staff arranged for a great trip up the river to see the caves and Sai Yok waterfall. Tree top high ropes course was also a great adventure and it’s a quick trip to visit Hellfire Pass. The food was excellent. Bring ear plugs for the noisy Cicadas throughout the region in the jungle.

A charming resort on the bank of River Khwae Noi at a reasonable price. Though there are only 60 guestrooms, the resort area is very large. The private road entrance is two kilometers stretching from the main highway. There are a number of fun activities on-site such as kayaking, hot spring foot bath and treetop adventure. There is a memorial exhibition to honor an Australian prisoner of war and a train wreck as a reminder of the death railway from the World War II history. There is also a trail access to a Mon village nearby. We noticed that a number of resort staff are Mon (one ethnic group living along Thailand/Myanmar border). There is a pier on the river bank is for boarding a long-tail boat to do a side trip. Though it is not safe to swim at the resort location due to swirling current, it is quite pleasant to sit down and relax on the pier at sun set and sun rise.

Beautiful resort tucked away next to the river. Grounds and gardens are expansive and well maintained. Staff are very helpful and attentive and made our stay memorable. The treetop adventure park was great, we had a blast.

We stayed at Home Phutoey Resort from the 5th till the 8th of December 2023. It was one of the best places that we've ever stayed. The room we stayed in was very beautiful and comfortable. The bed is huge and all other things we could need was basically there, like towels, shampoo, bottled water, a water boiler and some instant coffee. Also included was the breakfast and the pool with hot springs. The breakfast is very diverse and there is a lot to choose from like eggs, toast, salad, coffee/tea, juice, pancakes, etc. The pool with hot springs that I mentioned before is the perfect way to relax. In our room they also provided us with a yukata (type of kimono), which added to the experience.

The first night of our stay we didn't want to go out and just eat something at the resort. We noticed that there were some bad reviews online about the food, but we tried it anyway. Maybe they have improved their kitchen recently because the food was actually really good! We have no complaints at all :-)

Alltogether this was our most favorite hotel during our stay in Thailand!

This location is one of my favourite places in Thailand and it's my 5th visit over last 4 years. The rooms are very comfortable with wooden colonial style decor, and nice balcony areas and there is not much difference between the superior and deluxe rooms. The lake by the pool can be seen from above, using one of the zip lines during your 'treetop adventure' highwire activity, or can exored using one of the paddle boats free of charge. The pool is cool and deep, and the hot spring (pool) adjacent to it is hot and soothing. There are also some foot spas available and a separate children's pool located in the centre of the resort. The restaurant is great and there is a seating area overlooking the river with spectacular views best seen ar sunrise and sunset. The breakfast is very good with Thai & western food, a salad bar, cereals, juice and fruit. For me, the garden and surrounds are the highlight. They are very well maintained with a stream flowing through the centre of the resort, flowing into numerous ponds and is great for photos and relaxing walks. Unfortunately the war memorial museum is in disrepair and needs serious renovations. The exhibits are neglected, almost beyond recognition, and are literally rotting away. It's extremely sad to see such disregard to the preservation of the memories of those who lost their lives during the construction of the Death Railway. This resort, is my favourite place to stay in Thailand and could be the perfect wedding venue for those wishing to tie the knot. I will be back and look forward to hopefully seeing the war memorial museum restored to it's former glory. 🙏

Lovely relaxing stay. The hot springs were great to relax muscles after a day of activities. I am vegan and the food provided was varied and delicious. Not much for breakfast though, suggest bringing your own soy milk and bread.

Great location (jungle, walk to Mon Village, visiting Hellfire pass,...), we really appreciated the staff, so kind and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Swimming pool was amazing! Breakfast with many choices! Although the hotel rooms are quite vintage, it perfectlty fits with the location!

Very beautiful view, lovely onsen villa and great food. Staffs are very kind and great short escape from Bangkok. We love the location next to Hell Fire Pass Museum as well. It is worth visiting (we went late April and it was not hot).

If you want a peace and quiet time in a jungle, this is one of the best places. Beautiful view of the River Kwai, the staffs are friendly and helpful. Great clean pool and hotsprings.

My only negative take is the pickup truck where they added seats in the back, aren't entirely safe. So better go in a minivan with AC and seatbelts for transportation.

tropical green resort with natural hotspring!!! Just a few places in Thailand I know that offer natural hotspring . What is more they do have some room types with hotspring bath tub on the rooms balcony...like rotenburo in Japan. The view is magnificent. Will definitely go back.
