Huen Chan Thip

We arrived well before check in time, expecting not to be able to access our room, however we checked in and was able to go to our room. The lady at reception is excellent, helps you with booking tours, bus trips, taxis and provided us with local information. Our room is cleaned daily and wifi is good, which is why I'm able to write this review. 😁 Breakfast was a surprise, we thought it would be just a simple contenial breakfast, but there was so much more. Thank you for a great stay, we would recommend as good value foroney.

Staff all very friendly. Has parking. There are cats. Rooms cleaned daily and there is a swimming pool in the centre. Would stay again.

I could not recommend this hotel enough if you are planning to travel to Chiang Rai. We ended up having to stay in town for a total of 16 days after suffering a painful motorcycle accident, which meant that we had to extend our stay at Huen Chan Thip for that time too.

It is a cozy, well-located B&B with an amazing Thai breakfast buffet, a great outdoor swimming pool and comfortable rooms. But by far the best part of the whole experience is the family that runs this guesthouse. They were always extremely kind, understanding, flexible and accommodating to us after we had our accident, even offering to drive us to the hospital, pharmacy, etc. Whatever it was that we needed help with, they would find a way to make it happen.

And even though we were thousands of kilometers away from our own families in Spain, we truly felt like a part of the Huen Chan Thip family (which includes all the adorable cats). They really helped make this difficult time just that much easier for us.

So look no further if you’re backpacking around South-East Asia like us, or even if you’re just feeling a bit nostalgic. I’m sure you will feel just as loved and at home as we did.

Don't judge a book by its cover. A lesson I am reminded of over and over again.. and this hotel certainly gives food for thought. A family business that sets out to treat every guest like a friend and family member. (English spoken for the nervous western traveller.. ) I was fortunate enough to have a ground floor room with balcony that connects directly to the courtyard swimming pool. The room was plush, well appointed and had all the conveniences I would normally need on a business/leisure trip.. Scale and proportions are big. Craftsmanship is evident everywhere as the owner is constantly repairing and improving spaces around the hotel. (He was evening working Sunday afternoon but took the time to help me with getting some soda and water from reception) .. This might be a 2star hotel for some reason.. but I feel like I got much more than that. My room was huge.. the water pressure excellent.. coffee available around the clock from reception.. .
Breakfast buffet from 07h00 to 10h00 with a variety of eggs.. rice.. meats, fruit and coffee. ..
The hotel is well located and walking distance from several restaurants, temples and convenience stores.
Rooms are provided with alcohol gel and refreshed daily.

Good value for money hotel with breakfast. They have a little pool and all day free coffee, tea, water, banana and biscuits. We were staying for 3 nights, so they also offered free laundry service for our clothes. Plus they also provide you bikes to get around the city.

This from a local (well an hour drive away), stayed here many times, love it;
Superior location, can walk everywhere, parking on site for 4 vehicles, 20 rooms, small pool, super breakfast buffet, 7-10, incl in room rate
Very good English speaking staff, nice smart owners, free bicycles but that is not a great idea in this area, narrow going thronging with careless Thai drivers, this guesthouse in on the walking street, Saturday nights, but the walking street starts a couple blocks down and isn't a problem for the guesthouse,

Quiet place (mostly, some chinese can be Very loud). Room are clean, worth money. Pool is very cold 😕 A lot of restaurants are very close, so saturday market not far from There. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast good enough - mostly thai style, but Very Very tasty if you dont mind little spicy food. For others There are some eggs, toasts, ham, Jam.

this place is superb, location, facilities, free breakfast even not so many choices, you can use the bicycle for free, they can also assist with scooter rental, seamless check-in, no deposit required, I booked from agoda and got my key less than 5 mins. location less than 5 mins 10 walk to clock tower, for Moslem there's mosque nearby and some halal restaurant. and super friendly staff

Extraordinary service by a family run hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for Willi the owner and Kung the manageress. They will do everything they can to make your stay happy.

Free laundry after 3 days, all you can eat breakfast that caters for all nationalities. Free water, bananas and Oreos (Willi, these biscuits are American and awful)

Large rooms and the staff are so friendly and happy. Most speak passable English but if there is a problem, ask for Kung who speaks it well.

Recommend rooms 203A and 204A. Both upstairs with balcony overlooking swimming pool.

Swimming pool small, but cute to refresh yourself in the evening or morning.parking available.breakfast include.5 min walk from clock tower and 10 min walk to night Bazaar.

WONDERFUL
Only stayed 1 night, wish it was longer.. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff very helpful. We had problems with our travel when leaving and the owner went out of his way to drive us to the bus station and make sure we took the right bus and the driver looked after us.. Couldn't rate the service any higher.. Will be back.
