Koh Ngai Thanya Beach Resort

The resort is placed right in front of 2 rocky islands that makes it the best view of Koh Ngai.
Snorkeling by the beach is great with wonderful fishes close by.
The service is good, the restaurant has a very decent menu, the bungalows are rather simple but comfortable. The pool could have minor improvements (hide the water mechanism) to make it look nicer, but otherwise it's a can't see any issue.
I just wish we would have stayed longer!!!

The family stayed here for 3 nights. We stayed in a bungalow near the restaurant end, that came with two queen size beds. The bungalow was a little older (there are newly renovated bungalows set further back) but very pleasant and comfortable. The pool is also due for a revamp, which the owner is planning to do next year. This end of the beach is great, and when the tide is at mid point, you can easily walk/paddle to the nearby coral for snorkelling, to check out the colourful fish life. The resort restaurant serves a great breakfast selection, as well lunch and dinner options (mix of 'western' and local Thai food). The service and hospitality from everyone who works here was first class, from the wonderful reception, to the fantastic housekeepers who tidied our room and made delightful towel animals for the kids every day. Highly recommend!

Lots of Thai islands offer lovely resorts, beautiful scenery, white-sand beaches, turquoise sea, palm trees, delicious food, etc etc. So please believe me when I say I particularly enjoyed THIS resort on THIS island!

The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful, but not intrusive. If you asked for something, the answer was usually 'yes' and it would happen swiftly, even when everyone was busy. It wasn't unusual to return to our room in the afternoon to find towels crafted into swans with fresh blossoms arranged on them! Beautiful, and such a thoughtful touch.

The location really is stunning, right on the beach, looking out to sea, with a backdrop of karsts and other islands. There are enough sunloungers to go round, but you can enjoy the view from the pool, if that's your preference.

Breakfast was good, except for the coffee, which was bitter. Lovely fresh fruit, yogurt, egg station etc. We had lunch at the hotel restaurant one day, too, and that was delicious.

Some people will find the island too quiet – there are no roads, fire shows on the beach, night clubs, and so on. TBH, I was afraid we'd get a bit bored. Wrong! As well as hanging out at the resort's picture-perfect beach, we also had a lovely 20-minute walk through jungle to Paradise Beach; another time, we did a boat-hopping/snorkelling day trip; and there are enough restaurants/bars that we ate out somewhere different for most meals (we were only there for 5 days, though). In comparison, on Koh Tarutao, there was one restaurant and we were the only customers! On Koh Ngai, there were enough people around to provide a bit of atmosphere, and variety re eating out.

There are no ATMs on the island, but we were able to use QR codes to pay. Obviously you'll need to take lots of cash if you don't have that. Or you might be able to pay with a card – sorry, but I don't know about that.

Travelling to the island on the long-tail boat was fun, and easy to arrange from Pakmeng Pier (then back, from Koh Ngai).

I hope to return!

We keep returning to this amazing resort every year! The beach, location, staff and rooms are fantastic. If you are looking for a peaceful break away from life - this is it. Highly recommended!

We stayed here 1 night, and it was awesome. It is a very quiet, peaceful island retreat. We took the longtail from Koh Lanta old town, and they dropped us off right in front of the beach resort.
We were welcomed with a smile and a cold drink. Rooms are built from wood, with wooden floors. Very spacious. The pool is big. The restaurant is good with surprisingly cheap prices for a remote island stay. The island has an eastern side, so the sunrise was amazing at 6 the next morning!
And the crystal clear water was amazing, also you can snorkle by yourself and see all the sea life.

This is absolutly amazing and totally unique place. It has a WOW factor. The view, rooms and peacefull atmosphere. The owner and stuff are kind and helpfull. I recommend it 100 %

I can’t even put into words how amazing our stay was at Thanya Beach Resort. The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. The food was out of this world and they actually listened when we said we like our food spicy 😁 Make sure you try the pancakes at breakfast, they were so yummy!
The room was spotless and I especially loved the extra touches with their own lemongrass and mint shampoo/shower gel, conditioner and moisturiser. I have never smelt so good. Even the room would smell amazing when we would come back in that evening! We wish we had more time so that we could have stayed longer. We did extend our stay by one more night and they were brilliant at accommodating us. The place is absolute paradise. Thank you so much for the most perfect stay 🥰☀

It's a nice sprawling resort with diverse flora and fauna. You can spot monitor lizards in a pond inside the property, hornbills, cicadas and they have lots of yellow cotton and frangipani trees with lovely flowers.
The rooms are reasonably sized, restaurant has quite decent food. The front desk people are very helpful. You can rent a kayak for 100baht/hr and their snorkel kits are free.
Special mention of the bartender who made us feel at home. Thank you for the amazing stay :)

Thanya Beach Resort is located on the Koh Ngai (Koh Hai) island, between Koh Lanta and Koh Kradan.

The island is tiny: prepare to do about nothing except sleeping, eating, swimming, snorkelling, beach walking and relaxing!

Thanya is the southernmost resort on the sunrise beach, nearest to the pier and nearest to the coral reef. You will be taken to the resort from the pier by a long tail boat, the journey takes 5 minutes.
This is a lovely resort with a friendly welcome by the lovely receptionist Thunyathep (Es). Also Fem took excellent care of the reception and little shop as well.
The bungalow is spacious with an entrance hall with a door to the shower room, large garderobes, fridge, a vanity table and coffee making facilities. The room is spacious with a comfortable bedding; the bed is rather hard, I like it. There is a safe, hair dryer, hot water with great water pressure and the internet is working really well!
The garden is gorgeous with blossoming trees!
Snorkelling from this beach is best from this particular resort because the best snorkelling area is between the south of the resort and the pier. You can walk in the shallow sea up to the reef!
You can also ask snorkelling, diving and boat trips from the reception, Es is very helpful and knows very much about the area.
The food is very good and great value for money as well!

This resort is a very good and unpretentious 3-star resort.

This hotel is in a beautiful spot at the end of the beach. The hill top rooms that we had were clean and comfortable and well designed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great menu in the restaurant, a bit more expensive than the average but every meal we had was delicious so well worth the money. (They only had a small menu when we were there due to Covid and low numbers) We loved the pool, the snorkeling right in front of the hotel, the sunbeds with umbrellas and would highly recommend this hotel. In fact, we are planning another trip here but for longer next time!

A nice resort on a very beautiful small bounty island. The cabinns / rooms are a good size. Food is very good and a really feel like living in the jungle. Super wildlife and and a coral reef just outside the beacharea.

Great Resort, we stayed there for 5 nights and had a wonderful time with our small Kids (3+5). Th food was very good, breakfast had a good variety and the staff was very helpful.

During Low tide the kids could snorkel on the Riff just infront of the Resort. We also did the Jungle Trip, for 30 minutes to Paradise Beach (don't forget mosquito repelent und water)
at the moment there are no Shops open. If you need snacks you need to bring them.

I just walked along the beach and meet this place. Restaurant is located next to the beach. I stay at another beautiful resort Thapwarin and I want have some drink and snack at corner of t he beach. Best service from restaurant staff name Neni, she is very supportive waitress. Good attitude and asset for the company, please keep her forever staff. I am very impress with her services and flexibility to her customer.

Thanya Beach Resort and Ko Ngai made our trip to Thailand pure magic. The beach in front of the hotel is one of the best of the island. The sand is white and the water is crystal clear. There are great snorkeling spots only some meters away from the beach. Another highlight of the hotel is its restaurant.
All dishes served are superb and perfectly prepared. In my total of almost two months of travelling in Thailand this was the best food I tried. It made all sense as I heard that the hotel owner is also a chef of a Thai restaurant in London. Only the breakfast is kept pretty simple. There is also massage service run by experience masseurs. But for me there was nothing more relaxing than getting a cocktail at night, sit down in front of the beach and just listen to the sea.

The staff is very friendly and helpfull. They organize for you some trips around and also the connection to mainland (for example straight to the Trang airport)

Lovley place, positioned in Paradise. Everything you could need and want in the room. Prices weren't too expensive in the shop/restaurant in comparison to other other islands considering this one is more remote. I cannot comment on the quality of the food/drinks as I unfortunately got sick during my stay, though my husband enjoyed what he had. We would have liked to stay a little longer than we did!

Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff make this resort the best on the island. Well laid out with a nice pool, perfect for a quiet getaway without modern distractions. Clean rooms, wonderful staff at a fair price.

Its looks like that this resort is close like the most places on this island. It would be such a nice place but i stay alone on the island and everything is close.

Its not real make soo much fun but its good to chill and relax.

This place is beautiful, bungalows are rustic but accordingly to the place. This resort is located on the best spot of the beach. It is a 3 star service, don't expect more. Friendly staff. Food at the restaurant is good and price reasonable.

Very nice place with focus on details. There is a small reef in front of the resort. Hence, it is very nice for snorkeling. Thanks a lot to the local employees. They are always open for a volleyball match in the evening.
