What a stunning hotel and pool!
We had a room next to the river and it was huge, with a bath and colonial style furnishings, a big balcony, snacks and drinks and a very comfy bed.
The staff were helpful, the breakfast was good and the lady on the egg station was super friendly.
We spent ages in and by the pool - it was lovely and cool.
The only down side was the party boat next door but no fault of the hotels.

We stayed at this hotel about 7/8 years ago and i was a bit unsure when i read some of the recent reviews before returning there in November.
The hotel is still great. It's a majestic property near the River Kwai. The rooms are simply furnished but larget and comfortable. Wifi is good. The breakfast is served in one of the beautiful dining rooms. The swimming pool is big and well designed.
The gym may need some new equipment and there may be less staff than before, but it's a great hotel for what they charge.
We will visit this peaceful haven again in the future.

Love the colonial style of the hotel. Rooms are extremely big. River view is super calm. Classic large bathroom with British style taps.

Fabulous hotel, best pool ever, it’s huge and very beautiful, lovely very large rooms, lovely polite staff, great location on the river. I loved staying at this hotel it was super quiet and peaceful. Lovely breakfast on the outside balcony.

A very nice quiet hotel, big clean rooms and lots of space. Apparently in thailand when booking a room for children 5 and younger, the hotel will not add a bed and the children are expected to sleep in the parents bed.
Location is on the river but will require a 10 min drive to the center so walking anywhere is not really an option.
Overall breakfast aside we had a good stay

First impressions were amazing, although it is a older resort it is presented beautifully, foyer is huge, staff very helpful.
The grounds all the way round were well maintained and presented, sadly we missed out on the pool because of schedule but it looked amazing and inviting.
The rooms like everything else was large, spacious and clean, serviced every day. The bathroom is getting old and dated and really needs a bit of a overhaul.
My only minor complaint would be the buffet breakfast, although there is variety, I found it a little limited and to a degree a little basic

Very peaceful and quiet place. The restaurant Rice Barge is located on the river and just a few steps from the pool area. Great tasty food, most meals around $200-300 baht. The atmosphere here is relaxing. There is a small local store in front of the hotel which sells basic items like water and snacks. They also have bikes for you can ride but only within the hotel area. Room was very spacious and AC worked perfectly. The gym is sub par i.e. lacking a treadmill and heavy weights but you can get by with the limited selection. All in recommend staying here.

Great stay here. Friendly staff, nice pool, great food and drinks and really good value! This was easily the best hotel/resort we stayed at while in Thailand.

Negatives would be the poolside toilets. They need to be cleaned. The poolside bar was empty. Breakfast is quite limited in variety. No shuttle to the town.

Nice, spacious rooms and colonial style facilities. A bit worn out and the house keeping can do a better job in taking care of the room and public toilet areas but can be looked over for its huge space.
Food is good enough. Not all restaurants are opened yet.
Service staff seems too few in comparison to how big the premise is.
Overall I would still give a 5stars rating but rather a 4.5 for some lacking mentioned.

Big spacious rooms, great garden at the riverside, we did not regret. Nice restaurant in boat house on the river. Many picturesque spots at hotel territory. We even did some fishing on the river. Bring your fishing equipment. Note that check in is 3 pm and check out is 11 am due to COVID-19 cleaning procedures, i find it not convenient for the guests, i believe 2 hours more than enough to clean rooms. Great place though.

Extremely pleasant place, the pool is well designed and provide a sense of relaxation thanks to the surrounding trees. I loved the garden, well maintained and spacious. The room was large and its balcony with river view provided a refreshing place for spacing out. The food is good and varied but it could be a bit better.

it is a very nice five star hotel with ample parking. The hotel is located just outside the city center and is therefore very quiet and idyllic, right on the river. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. Car definitely recommended.

Check-in was easy and the staff was very friendly. The pool invites you to cool off, the rooms are very large, have air conditioning and a ceiling fan and the terrace/balcony also has a ceiling fan to avoid the heat.

The hotel is only 2 minutes by car from the really good restaurant "me, kitchen and bar" also right on the river. I can also recommend this restaurant to you. The well-known bridge on the River Kwai can be reached in about 6 minutes by car.

I can only recommend this hotel to you, I would book it again. As in any hotel, if you want to find flaws and errors, you will find them here and at home 😎

I really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were large with good size balconies. Breakfast buffet was very good. Only one restaurant though but room service prices were the same as dining in. Large pool with bar service. Gardens well kept.

Amazing rooms! The building have a very colonial vibe.
Children can feed cute rabbits on the premises.
The river bank is right on the dude of the property.

The hotel is built up in Colonial style and locate by River Kwai. The decorations are all great and the maintenance is considering very good compared to the size of the hotels. The room is also very big and spacious.

Spacious room with great amenities. Interior is nicely decorated.Beautiful garden with pool. You can enjoy scenic river view from your balcony. We stayed there during rainy season. So rain falling over the river is a bonus view. Due to covid stuff was few. Buffet breakfast available.

Best hotel in kanchanaburi, very nice and big rooms, quite,location is also good and price is much beter then the others, staff is also very kind, only swimingpool is dirty and i hoop they are gona do some thing.

Great stay - very relaxing atmosphere, polite staff and comfortable rooms.
We liked a lot pool area and overall nature around. A lot of beautiful trees.
On a downside quite poor breakfast (not 5*) and can be a bit noise from neighbor room - but it was still very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful property with a great staff. The children thought the pool was phenomenal and the rooms were very nice. We even got a kick out of how seriously the parking lot attendants took their role (sometimes saluting me when I parked the car safely). A glorious place to spend a few days while exploring the area. We did not eat any of our meals here but some good restaurants like Tabasco and Blue Rice are close.

Nice place to relax and chill. Rooms clean and the food is very good as far as I am concerned. River kwai and railway bridge with the nearby with the war cemetery highlighting the deaths of both local and expats caused by the Japanese occupation.
