OonLee Bungalows

We stumbled across the place entirely by chance, and I'm so grateful we did! A stunning, family run business with a gorgeous, airy vibe and beautiful food and views! Even if you don't stay, go to watch the sunset from the beach side bar and then make the climb for dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea above. Outstanding service from this sweet family team who went above and beyond in every way (Virginie I loved the book, thank you!). The rooms are small, characterful and eco friendly (fan only) but exceptionally clean and comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

We had an amazing getaway from the touristic Thailand by staying at OonLee Bungalows for 3 nights. The accommodation, run by a Thai-French family, showcases their attention to detail, evident in the absence of plastic overuse, among other small gestures. The accommodation is situated quite far away from the center of the island. However, there is a convenient motorbike rental service available just 30 minutes walk from the accommodation. Bungalow construction has holes in it so you can find insects or geckos inside but it doesn’t bother us since bed has mosquitaire. The food here is quite pricey compared to other places but it’s really delicious. You can bath on the beach near the accommodation only when it’s high tide.

We stayed at Oon Lee Bungalows for 3 nights, we are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenage boys. We loved every blissful minute.of our stay. The accommodation is simple.but beautiful with tasteful decor and thoughtful touches. The views are awesome. The restaurant serves a delicious and interesting mix of Thai and Western dishes. The service we received from owners and staff was warm and excellent and we really loved our stay.

Such a magical place! The owners are lovely and very welcoming. The service was excellent: we were picked up from the ferry by a long-tail boat (we did not ask for this, it was organized by the owners), and during our stay, the lovely family made our stay unforgetable: they helped us, served us very tasty food, wine and cocktails and told interesting stories of their life and their business.

The bungalows were very clean, had stunnig views and s a nice, modern design. We did not see any insects or other animals in them - just some funny monkeys playing around in the garden.

The bungalows are located at the end of a quiet road and a beach, but the owners pick you up and to explore the island, you can rent a bike from a nearby cafe, meaning that the location is simultaneously very quiet yet the accessibility is good enough.

I can definitely recommend this place, the atmosphere and the beauty of the resort will make your stay memorable.

We didn't sleep there so it's hard to tell something about the rooms. But me and my wife were coming there every evening to chill, eat and drink and play billards with sunset view. It's a lovely place with classy decor (the owner is french as far as I got it). The food is excellent and the bartenders were kind cheerful. We were coming there from other hotel nearby regretting we didn't book our stay there :)

Absolutely loved my stay here. They were the most welcoming hosts! They got our taxi ride down to half the cost straight away so we didn't get ripped off.

Food was outstanding! The bar is great! Would happily go again.

This place is absolute paradise - Oon and Valerie are so hospitable. If you let them know where you’re coming from/leaving to they will arrange your transport and get you to where you need to be. The restaurant was 10/10, with traditional Thai food, as well as a French influence. The beach bar was also pure bliss, we spent hours drinking Pina Coladas and playing pool and checkers as the sun set. Would also recommend spending a night dining at Oonly, Oon’s side hustle 2km down the road, where he will cook you a whole BBQ snapper with sides. Everything is very affordable, will be back here very soon

Didnt stay over night, but the place looks fantastic. Beautiful flower harden divided by narrow paths, well built bungalows and a spaceous restaurant. Quite a hassle to get there and still a lot of rocky dirt road. Food was allright and authentic, not too much above island average. They habe a lot of western dishes on the menu. French toast was no burner, but it never was when i gave it a try. Prices are definitely above average.

Oon Lee is a dream of a place! The staff, Valerie and her sons are amazing. The location puts you in an immediate relax mode. All you have to do is let go, enjoy the amazing sunsets and keep the rest of your schedule open because you might want to stay longer :-)

the bungalow is very cozy, nice view, and the family who runs the place ist very friendly and helpful. i had such a relaxing stay and was sad that i had to leave. 100 % recommended!

I had the best stay at Oon Lee. Very service-minded and friendly staff, beautiful rooms and both the restaurant and bar are
beautifully furnished and located with great views overlooking the ocean. I can really recommend going here if you just want to get away and relax for some time 🙏🏽

We had a great stay here. The bungalows are provided with everything you’ll need. Except an air condition, but there’s a fan which will cool you down a bit and it’s pretty powerful. The bed is very comfortable and surrounded by a mosquito net.

The hosts are super kind and will help you with everything you’ll need. The resort is quite remote. So you’ll need a motorbike or taxi to bring you to the main parts of the island.

Near the beach there’s a small bar and massage salon. Between 5-7 pm there’s a happy hour. And all cocktails are 100 thb. Real good price ✌🏻

The restaurant serves great food. Even with great French wines.

Super friendly owners, make you immediately feel at home and gives you the feeling of being a welcomed guest at their family‘s place! Very helpful also during days of heavy rainfall and when it was difficult to reach the resort as part of the street slid away. The food is delicious with a fusion of French and Thai cuisine - we would definitely recommend :-)

We stayed in Oon Lee Bungalows for a couple of days. We arrived after a heavy rains so the road to the resort was destroyed at some point and we had to take our luggage, go through a mud for a while and change cars. But the staff was so friendly and made this trip so natural that we felt more optimistic. We were pesimistic because of the weather forecast, but what can you do about it:)

We have been there in the 3rd week of November. The resort is beautiful. Clean, hidden in plants, lights at the evening make the place magical. Bungalow was clean and comfortable. No animals or insects inside ;) No Air-con but fan was absolutely enough. Food very tasty. Always fresh fish available. Drinks at the beach bar delicious and view at Koh Phi Phi amazing, especially at sunset. We didn’t go anywhere from the resort, only walking in the beach (apart from monkeys and small crabs we were very often alone there!:) ). To go from the bar / bungalow to the restaurant you have to climb rocky stairs which might be tiring for elderly people or those not in shape.

To get in and out of the resort - we were supported by the Staff, given instructions or had arranged everything by Oon and Valerie. And This is another amazing feature - the resort is run by a family, Oon, his French wife Valerie, and their sons; they are supported by great staff members, e.g. Tar :) This makes you feel as a family member as well:) the stay was lovely, relaxing, wonderful experience. Excellent to chill, stay out of the crowdy places. We will be happy to come back :)

I had the time of my life in OonLee Bungalows. Our bungalow, the common area, scenery, etc. I loved every bit of it. Everything was just perfect and full of precious details. We loved having a little bit of a chit-chat with Oon and Valerie family members, they were all very friendly and caring. The food in the restaurant was delicious, too! I am dreaming of coming back to this place once again. It stole my heart.

Perfect place if you want to relax and enjoy the paradise of Ko Jum! Can only recommend! Amazing location, bungalows and hosts. Will def. come back !

Perfect place. Awesome staff, super friendly people who make incredible food. Only thing to consider is don't try and drive the last stretch of road unless you're an experienced motorbike driver. If you aren't, no problem, they have a truck to take you the final leg of the road to the resort. I really loved my time here and can't wait to go back.

The OonLee Bungalows on Ko Jum were one of the very best accomondations in Thailand we had so far. EPL: effort, passion, and love. Oon and Valérie built it up starting 17 years ago creating a safe and modern Garden Eden. Inbetween the stunning nature at the bottom of Mount Pu this place is extraordinary. The restaurant – the heart of this green oasis – makes you feel like beeing in a homey Gentlemans Club minus the stiff atmosphere. Designed with very good taste and awesome details.
The cuisine is astonishing. Fresh healthy Thai Food and selected dishes meet European breakfast. You can have both.

Even good wine is on the not too big menu. Only the coffee could come in more and stronger varieties.

All is very uncomplicated and easy going here. The Bungalows are cosy, simple, with wood, bamboo and much love for all details. The bar downstairs is built at the ocean, with good drinks, pool Billards and again such beautiful taste. The family of Oon, Valérie and their two sons, Alec and Joey, are smart, polite and funny people same as their staff, especially Dao who is hell of a funny, lovely guy – even though he is a Liverpool fan ;)

For us the highlight was definitly the good hearted dogs living at this place. Dumm and Singha first and formost who slept on our terrace every night so we felt very protected (although it wasn’t nessacary). If you’re not so much into dogs no problem, the resort is big enough.
We recommend this place as a must see and we have been very sad to leave this beautiful and relaxing oasis behind us. Whenever we return to Thailand we will come back for sure.

Beautiful place. Piece of paradise. Food at the restaurant is great but a little on the pricey side (based on Thailand standards) but they have a lot of (very good) European cuisine as well so I guess that drives up the prices. Our bungalow felt really price. Lovely to lay in the hammock on the balcony, enjoy the view, read. Really nice. Room doesn't have an air conditioner but there's a fan (it was a little hot). There's also a mosquito net over the bed. We really loved this place. It's set on a hill so you do have to walk a lot of stairs but it didn't bother us. Service was great. We really loved this place.

We loved our stay here. Valerie, Oon, Joey and Alec are amazing people, I want to say a Big Thank you for our time we spent in your beautiful resort. Tucked away on the private beach, under the sunset of Koh Jum, we ate delicious food cooked by the incredible Chef. Every dish we ordered from the menu was outrageously good, like almost criminal. The Pad Thai was A1 rating. Joey kindly showed us around the Island with the 4x4 pick up truck 🛻 and invited us to play football with the local guys which was so fun. We felt welcome and appreciated everything at Oonlee. 🙏🏼
