The quote on the monument is from the great Bulgarian revolutionary Hristo Botev! Botev along with Vasil Levski fought against 500 years turkish slavery!

Memorial to the heroic Bulgarian partisans who gave their lives for our freedom. Pamätník bulharských Partizan (Memorial of the Bulgarian Partisans), made by Sculptor
F. David, Czechoslovak sculptor of Prague.
(Signed: f. david 1949). Is a bronze sculpture of a Bulgarian partizan helping his wounded friend. The monument carries the Inscription on front and back edge of base plate:
"kto padne v boji za slobodu, nezomiera
(from Hristo Botev - Христо Ботев). Meaning: "Who falls in the struggle for freedom, does not die".

A great monument which catches your eye and makes you think of the soldiers it’s dedicated to.
If you’re interested in World War 2 history or Soviet/Communist history, you need to see it.

Great place! We were listening to a polish song and made some squeeking noises, while watching a guy pissing into the danube.

Ładny, dobrze wykonany pomnik poświęcony bohaterom walczącym o swoją wolność i ojczyznę.

Neskutočné utrpenie a obetavosť už padlých vojakov a aj ich rodín si temer nikto zo súčasnej generácie nevie vážiť, oceniť a ani reálne predstaviť. Nebyť ich obety, asi by nežili oni a ani my. Preto im patrí večná úcta, neskonalá vďaka a sláva !!!
