Lomnický štít

260 m above see level, 2 km elevation from the start of the cablecar ride. The peak was extremely windy and it was snowing. Quite an experience!

Unfortunately at the very top was cloudy and even snowing at one point so we saw nothing of the view. 😢 But we definitely enjoyed just getting up with the chair lifts and the surroundings around with all the animals and beautiful nature around.

Be prepared that whole peak would be covered in clouds or fog, and since you’re buying tickets in advance — that’s what you get…
Yet, amazing experience, not regretting it at all!

Even though very pricy, it is worth a visit!
If you are lucky enough and the weather is nice, you will see breathtaking views without breaking a sweat.
Tickets sell out easily so it is needed to plan ahead. As of September 2023, return tickets from Tatranska Lomnica cost 74e via gopass app.
You will have a limited time to spend upstairs (50min) after which your number will be called and you will have to descent back to Skalnate pleso. I think it is enough time to walk around and even grab a coffee or a cake in the bar.

Was cloudy day but we managed to get a break in the sky and catch some clear skies as well. So worth the visit and loved it so much!

Amazing view point – in a good weather, the price of the cable car is absolutely worth it.

We went there at the beginning of November on a sunny day ant the view was breathtaking. And it was so warm up there (few degrees below 0°C). The advantage of going there off season is that you do not have to book the tickets in advance and you simply decide in the morning.

You have 50 minutes to stand there in 2634 metres. In a good weather, the 50 minutes are sufficient amount of time to take pictures, look around and have some snack. There is also a restaurant up in Lomnický štít, which is cosy and if you hit a storm/bad weather, you can easily spend all or most of your 50 minutes inside.

Amazing, breathtaking and fun activity to do to take a cable care to Lomnicky peak from Skalnate Pleso! It's unreal to see all majestic High Tatras mountain range from the top! this activity gets booked out fast and usually need to pre book tickets 10 days before via vt.sk ! Highly recommended :)

Brilliant and fun day spent here. We took the first cable car for the day and I must say, we were super lucky with the blue clear sky all day long! We enjoy the views and the top, where you get to stay here for 50 minutes. Then we went for a walk and lunch at the middle stop. This place has exceeded our expectations, and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a day at leisure, watching the day go by. Photos doesn't do this place any justice.

If you want to hike up here, be warned, you should take ropes as it is dangerous

Absolutely amazing place in Slovakia. If you go to High Tatras you definitely have to visit Lomnicky Stit. We hiked from Tatranska Lomnica to Skalnate pleso, 900 vertical metres, over 5km, and it took us 3 hours including several stops. We didn’t book the tickets for the cable car that takes you to Lomnicky Stit, but were very lucky and got the ticket that day. We did have to wait few hours but with our hike it wasn’t that long. We had a look around Skalnate pleso and then enjoyed late lunch and some desert while waiting for our ride to the top. And then from Skalnate pleso we took the cable car. The ride was just under 10 minutes and then we stayed at the top for 40 minutes, which was a good amount of time to enjoy all the views on different sides, take plenty of photos and you can also have a drink at a bar there. We didn’t have the clearest sky, but the views were still amazing. The money was very well spent! I really suggest booking few day in advance, because we almost did not get in.

One of the best attractions in High Tatras. Great views, but best in the mornings and evenings.

One of most amazing places in Slovakia: "on the roof of the country". Excellent views (of course depending on the weather), interesting astronomical, meteorological and cosmic rays observatories. Worth to visit.

The view is stunning, if you are in the area this is a must.

Spectacular..it says 2634 m but its actually 2633 acording to new measurements. Not that it matters too much.. views are amazing if you catch good weather
