Zvolen Castle

The castle contains the art gallery with paintings and sculptures from XII-XVIII century. Most of them refer to christianity, life of ordinary people and nobles.
The entrance fee was less than 6 Euro for 2 people.

Small castle which is also a gallery (Slovak National Gallery). Exhibition have interesting paintings from 16-17th century and last room is full of games and funny sculptures.

Zvolen Castle is currently a part of Slovak National Gallery which is apparent at first sight - the exhibitions, pedagogical activities for children and space. Highly recommend permanent exhibition as well as other exhibitions.

The castle itself is beautiful. Nowadays the Slovakian National Galery has an exhibition inside.

Magnificent castle! Everything from statues to paintings was gorgeous.

The castle alone is worth a visit but the art and sculpture gallery inside really is a must see for anybody. Occupying part of the ground floor and the entire first floor it is currently the most extensive gallery in Slovakia and with an adult ticket costing just 2.70 EUR when I visited it's exceptionally good value.

On the ground floor are the oldest works; sculptures and panel paintings from different regions of medieval Europe.

The first floor houses many European artworks from the 16th to 19th century and 13th to 21st century sculpture.

The artwork covers many genres, from religious to still life studies, and portraits to landscapes so there's something for everyone.

The tea shop in the south west corner of the courtyard is worth visiting afterwards for its incredible range of teas.

Nice and cozy place, Zvolen city is much better than Banská Bystrica and this castle is awesome I recommend it and I strongly advice you to try out the tea place there, it's simply gorgeous.

Very interesting, it's a castle that combines modern and ancient structures with variety collections from Slovak and counterparts artists.

Really wonderful to place to go with your friends or family. You can see nice paintings there with descriptions to learn more. I recommend this place for everyone.

Very close to city centre. Inside is the exhibition of Slovak national gallery. Kind staff and worth to visit ;)
