Ganymede's Fountain

Built way back in 1888 by V. Tilgner, the foundation is really well made and interesting because of the different animals displayed. Right next to the city center and Opera house. The square is big and staying a bit unused in my opinion but it's good there's space for pedestrians

It depicts figures from ancient mythology: an eagle carries the young Ganymede to the top of Mount Olympus, on the order of the Goddess Dia, so that he can serve the Gods. On the upper part of the middle basin there are sculptures of aquatic creatures and, lower down, the central column is surrounded by figures of children holding four types of fish from the River Danube – carp, catfish, sander and pike. From the fishes’ mouths water cascades into the basin. The figures on the fountain were cast by the firm A.M. Beschorner from Budapest.

Good meeting point in the scented of the city. Now is the time of Christmas market

It's a beautiful fountain in the city Center of Bratislava, where you can take nice photos, find many souvenirs stores, (whose products are very cheap), and the Čumil, a very famous statue of a working man, where lots of people gather around to take pics with him. Don't forget to take the historical tour, where you can see and take pictures of important historic places and monuments, while you listen with your headphones, how the city was built througt the years; also in this tour, you will visit Bratislava's royal family castle, which it's beautiful. ⛲📷 🚌🎧🏙🌟👍🇸🇰

A beautiful fountain situated right in the old town

It is bussy place with lots of people in city center. However, somehow it is nice to sit here and have ice cream.
