Museum of the Slovak National Uprising

A great museum with helpful staff. All exhibits available in English as well as Slovak. I would recommend going to the downstairs exhibit second, as upstairs provides a lot more background information. Wonderful to learn about Slovak history.

I love this place. I was here many times. This place is big part of Slovak history. There is interesting collection of armored vehicles out side and inside is realy nice museum about Slovak national uprising 1944.

Very nicely done museum on the Slovak National Uprising, with various exhibits on Nazism and how the Slovake decided to rise up against the collaborators and occupiers. Musuem is pretty inexpensive to enter and has a little bookshop. Couple floors with guns, stories and uniforms. Very well done museum. Definitely worth visiting. No dogs allowed. Right in city center.

The Museum SNP is really great overall! The Museum SNP is divided into two parts, the open air fixed displays are a bit older and show their age however the payed interior main museum is new, clean and interactive. The Slovak peoples history fighting fascism throughout WWII is very important and should never be forgotten.

Lovely museum, covering all aspects of the Czech contribution in ww2, from the partisans to those who joined foreign legions such as the commonwealth army and red army. Great collection of items and display method, not to mention the stunning exterior design of the building and the statue next to the eternal flame.

Excellent museum. Fantastically informative and beautifully presented. Very good translation options for English speakers. Very affordable and the staff were extremely good.

Well organised, lots of things to see from weapons to uniforms, banners and medals to paphlets and brochures of WW II. Worth spending 1 or 2 hours.

The museum covers a crucial period in Slovak history that most of us are not even aware about. Built up in a very nice way, a combination of short historical movies and plenty of exclusive pieces in the exposition inside and outside. A must see!

Fantastic war museum about mostly WW2 and Slovakia's resistance. Great expositions that are well thought out and engaging. Free at the time of visit!

The museum is very interesting, all the videos are translated to English and they’re really well done. Highly recommended.

A beautiful outdoor history lesson and more

Definitely worth a visit. Outside perhaps not overwhelming, but inside you'll find lots of items related to national uprising, holocaust and WW2 in general. All of them, including a movie in the little cinema room also in English. Free parking as well as small collection of armoured vehicles and artillery pieces outside.

'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.' Very true and very important to teach kids what actually happend in past to understand and change future.

In museum of Slovak national uprising holds various exhibits referring to said uprising. There's a lot of uniforms, guns and orders. You may also find equipment related to communication, first aid, or everyday life. Inside the museum there's also a room with audio files presenting important personas and videos presenting interesting aspects of the uprising.

Interesting museum, nice building and exhibition. Very informative, the multimedia part is excellently done, with proper focus on historical facts and testimonials of people involved in the events. Nice presentation of the exhibits, some unique. Also in the park next to museum is a nice collection of artillery and armored vehicles and tanks, freely accessible.
