Castle Oponice (Appony)

GREAT RECONSTRUCTION WORK. Big ruins with a big advance in reconstruction work. A 30 minute hike through the forest. All castle ruins should be preserved. More information about the castle would be appreciated.

Love this place. Always happy to visit. Nice walk through the forest not really difficult to get up to the ruins. Accessible for families with kids.

Nice ruins to visit. There's a road just before or after Chateau Appony depending on which way you go past, which will lead you up towards the footpaths to the Hrad. Great views of the valley when you get up there too.

Located in the village of Oponice,easy hike,not too steep,not too long.It is a ruin but worth visiting.The view from the top is great .I recommend to combine this trip with visiting the famous Oponice library inside of the Oponice chateau located not far away or the Oponice museum.The Oponice chateau has a nice park,a cafe and one can actually get room and wellness services there as well.

Lovely walk and view to the castle

Very beautiful place in the woods. We walked all the way from Lefantovce through the woods. The castle is being renovated. You might watch beautiful sunset from the castle and have a nice view over the walley around Topoľčany. We visited the place during winter but spring and autumn must be spectacular.

beautiful, untouched forest on the way to the ruin, easy to get lost, the ruins are just being slowly renovated, state should invest a bit more into this forgotten jewel

Nice view from ruin. Less then one hour of hiking from parking. And not steep.
I was there in winter. I would like to visit it in summer.

Worth to visit. Like many castles in SK needs some reparation works to make it more attractive.

Ahogy régen kinézett a pár fallal,ahhoz képest egész szépen helyre pofozták.
A lenti parkolótól kb. 30-40 perc séta a zöld túrista jelzésen a várrom. Könnyű sétával megtekinthető.
A parkolás lent ingyenes,a várba belépőt nem kell fizetni.
Ajánlom a megtekintését.
Vogyázat,a deszkak törnek,fokozótt óvatosságal közlekedjenek a várban!!!
