Matyšák Shop, Pražská, Bratislava

I went to Matysak to inquire about wine tasting. I made a reservation for Dominik, the sommelier. My friend and I were greeted warmly and we talked about the wines I wanted to try. We had 3 whites and 3 reds, and Dominik added a 'bonus' white to try. A tray of meats, cheeses and bread was also prepared for us.

Dominik led the tasting from the whites to the reds, explaining everything about the wines. He answered all my questions and we got a good history of wine making in Slovakia. I bought a bottle of red and white in the shop next door.

On my next visit I will have to try the restaurant. After the plate of food prepared we weren't hungry for dinner. The price was reasonable for what we had, and in line with other places where I had done my own tastings.

I highly recommend Dominik if you want to learn and taste some amazing Slovakian wines. Ďakujem pekne, Dominik!

They have a great selection of excellent Slovakian wines, stored in a century+ old Gewolbe room. Beautiful, great service and atmosphere.
