SLOVAKATION - Vacation in Slovakia

Exploring the High Tatras has been an incredible experience thanks to the lovely group I met along the way and our guide, Tom. He was attentive, laid back, and adaptable. It was wonderful to hear him share his culture with us and its fascinating history. Sadly the weather wasn’t always on our side, but the walks were gorgeous nonetheless and we still enjoyed every second!

It was not so long-term but really amazing trip. Program of tour was prepared mindful, rationally and customer's love. Everything was excellent due to high quality professional guide skills of team leader Martin. He took care of us, be patiently and confidently, checked weather and twice urgent changed location of our hiking-route according to current terms. That's a big difference between begginer and professional- to make right decisions and doing the best for clients.
Eventually we had three perfect hiking days with incredible landscapes and views of High Tatras.
I am grateful Martin and SLOVAKATION Company for this beautiful adventure and look forward next meetings.

An incredible weekend hiking through the High Tatras. Our guide Patrik was brilliant - really knowledgeable about the area, friendly, and organised and planned things perfectly. Went on my own but met a really great group of people also doing the trip. 10/10 would recommend!

Excellent hiking tour, the views were spectacular of the snowy mountains. Tom was the greatest guide and gave us a good overview of the history behind the local area

Had a great hiking adventure in the Tatras mountains. Great group of people, amazing views and our guide Patrik was brilliant! Thunderstorms threatened to disrupt everything but Patrik always had a great plan B when needed, so we still did lots of hiking in incredible locations.

A wonderful hike with a great guide - the roads are well thought of (so you do not need to worry about nothing) you get a lot of care and help.
We were on a road with Martin - he did all the possible things to assure we’re all fine, if the road is pleasant for the whole group, he was sharing lots and lots of facts and interesting things about the region and the mountains.
Would definitely recommend these guys if you’re on a lookout for a great and active trip!

Martin put together a wonderful day trip for my husband and me. He had done his homework on my family’s ancestral village. He was super knowledgeable about the historical sites we visited. A great guide! Great value.

Had a magnificent 3 days of hiking round Slovak Paradise National Park with our amazing guide Patrik. The 3 days were all really varied and well-thought out. The accommodation in Levoca was fantastic. Lots of care and love goes into these trips. They really look after you. ❤

July 2023 - a fantastic long weekend hiking in the High Tatras, led by our very accommodating and knowledgeable guide Patrik. I missed the last day's group hike (due to a migraine), but Patrik directed me towards easier routes and a top notch cafe, which considerably helped with recovery. I'd love to come back and do the hikes again, especially the one I missed. Thank you.

I had an amazing time on the Slovak Paradise national park trip! I would recommend it for anyone looking to try hiking, or a seasoned hiker looking for something a bit different as the steps and ladders in the national park add a fun challenge and real sense of adventure to the hikes. There are a handful of steep parts of the trail but if you enjoy walking you’ll be able to do it, and there was no pressure on speed so we could take breaks as often as we needed (so don’t let fitness put you off as I almost did!). We were briefed before each hike about what to expect from the area we were walking through, and how to do it safely and easily. Patrik is a very informative, organised and helpful guide, especially when it came to the technical parts of the hikes (e.g the ladders, which I was scared to climb at first but ended up being my favourite part of the trip!). He was also lovely to chat to and shared a lot about life in Slovakia. The area was stunning so views from the hikes were very rewarding, and the town where we stayed (Levoca) was picturesque and felt very safe. The hotel and breakfast were excellent, and our evenings were free to do as we pleased, so we could be well-rested before the next day’s adventure. I was provided with an accurate kit list well in advance of the trip so the whole process was very easy, and the company was very reliable. This was the perfect trip for a packing a lot of adventure into a short getaway, and I am already planning to return to the area to do the High Tatras mountains trip with Slovakation! I had a fantastic time on the Mala Fatra winter hiking trip. Amazing country and friendly, helpful people... especially Martin - an expert local guide and always willing to help and answer our endless questions :-)
The cable car up the mountain was a great start and then the scenery and adventures from there were just brilliant.
The people in our group were like-minded, easy to get on with and enjoy the experience together. The accommodation also exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!

I recently got back from a 6 day trip with Slovakation and had an incredible time! We were in a group of 6 and explored the main national parks. The itinerary was perfectly planned, with a great mixture of hiking and personal time to relax afterwards. The accommodation was fantastic and the food was delicious. Huge thanks to Patrik for being a fantastic guide, especially as he went out his way to go back up one of the peaks, after the clouds cleared at Mala Fatra. We had freedom as a group to go on ahead if you wanted some alone time when hiking, but always felt safe knowing Patrik (our guide) was nearby. Communication was clear and responses were quick in case of any questions

I'm hoping to go back again on another tour in the near future

What an incredible trip! We just completed the 3 day/3 night hike in the High Tatras and it was amazing! Our guide, Tom, was fantastic. From the moment he picked us up, to the hikes, the food, and the cultural experience provided, I can't say enough good things. Absolutely amazing service! Martin was very attentive since the first contact, and doing the solo tour with him it was like travelling with a friend. He explained about Slovakia history, scenery, castles, and a lot of things you wouldn't know if you were not with a local, and he loves and knows what he does.
Our day trip was to Boynice Castle (gorgeous!) and to the beautiful and unique Cicimani village, I went on a Wednesday week so it was quiet and very nice to have both almost exclusive to mysef.
The best tour guide you can get while in Slovakia, you'll feel home!

A Magical Winter Holiday
We had the best time in beautiful Slovakia with Slovakation
We were looking for a wintery family holiday with a variety of activities and comfortable accommodation. We contacted Martin to help us to organise our trip and take the stress out of organising our holiday. He did a fantastic job. The hotels we stayed in were luxurious with outstanding breakfast and dinner buffets. Some hotels had spas to relax in after coming in from the cold. He planned an itinerary to suit us, including snowy hikes, visits to thermal pools and a tour around a magical castle.
Martin provided a knowledgeable guide for us (Tom) who was absolutely amazing. He drove us to all our activities so we didn't need to think about travel. He planned our daily itinerary yet was able to amend it swiftly when the weather wasn't ideal. He took us to some of the best local restaurants for food, recommended traditional Slovak snacks for us and even taught us some of the language! He was also an incredibly knowledgeable guide and taught us a lot of local and national history.
We cannot recommend Slovakation enough! It was a completely stress free and really fun way to explore the beautiful country of Slovakia. Thank you Martin and Tom for the best holiday!!

Just did a 4 day/3 night tour with the wonderful Patrik (Patrik the Prepared) in the Tatras.
From the communication, transport, organisation and thoughtful elements, the adventure was excellent.
Patrik was knowledgable, the pension we stayed at was lovely and the activities (hiking, thermal baths, meals and exploring local towns) were varied and enjoyable. Patrik offered guidance on technical aspects, cultural background and history, as well as adaptions or alternatives when I had a knee injury flare-up.
I would recommend highly!

Just completed the 3 days Hight Tatras tour with Tom, amazing experience! Flexible leed to cather for everyone of the group needs and easygoing attitude! Really enjoyed the amazing nature, countryside and Slovak culture immersion. All of these elements made shine by the genuine enthusiasm of the guide! I sincerely recommend it!

I had a great time on the Mala Fatra winter hiking tour. Martin did a great job of arranging all logistics smoothly, expertly adjusting the hiking routes in accordance with the weather conditions, and also informing us about the area and answering all our questions. All 3 of the hikes were extremely beautiful and enjoyable, and the guesthouse we stayed at was also lovely, with delicious meals and friendly staff.
