I went here in late July, very easy to get to from Bratislava. A train to Trnava, then another train towards Galanta where you get off in Sered'. When you arrive, google maps will tell you to take away that is a round about way on the road which is about a 2km walk. Instead you can walk across the train tracks, as the Museum is just on the other side. This will save you a lot of time if you do not have a car. The staff was very friendly and let me know what exhibitions were in each barrack, overall it was very informative and full on information on the Jews of Slovakia.

Fantastic museum, a little journey outside Bratislava, but well worth visiting. Very well organised, spacious, respectful. A very emotional experience. Great planning and attention to detail.

Haunting, extremely educational and above all else very tasteful. Please, if you have any slight interest in European history or WWII then I highly suggest going here.

This museum is so much needed in Slovakia. It belongs to a part of its history that is shameful but needed to know. the display of the information is really wellmade and thought. I particularly liked the contextualization of the whole conflict, including Nuremberg trials, Eichman trial in Israel, The Wannsee Conference etc. I also liked a lot the reconstruction of the workshops in one of the barraks, with photographies that shows you how real the recreation is. You need two or three hours to explore the exhibition and the space is quite small. We were able to visit 4 barracks, information in English but very small options in the Museum Shop if you´d like to buy books in English. Not a place easy to reach as the information signs are not on the right place, we went by car and missed the entrance. There is a lot of parking space and it is definetey worth visiting it.

Great museum well layed out and a it really highlighted the history behind the camp. It is well worth a visit, if you go by train you can just cross the rail tracks in front of the station, which is not shown on google maps.

It's an example of a country dealing with its past. This is not just about the Holocaust, but Slovakia's role in the creation of labor camps, the extermination and the deportation of most of its Jewish population. The expo is small, but impactful. If you come by train, you should be ready to walk, because you can't cross the train tracks and you will walk about 20 minutes to get to the museum. My biggest take (especially in the current times, i.e. 2023) is the warning, by surviving Jews, that such levels of oppression should not be repeated, no matter the political views, religion, or gender....

Sereď was a labor and transit camp built during Ww2 in the Slovak Republic . It was founded as a labor camp for the Jewish population in September 1941. In September 1944, it was taken over by units of the SS.

Today, not many people know about this memorial place, the museum of Holocaust. I had the privilege to visit this place of remembrance and I must say, my heart was very moved. I know this town caled Sered from my childhood and my family too. This specific place was a place where Jewish people, during the second World War, were in captivity, lived, worked here and later they were relocated to a concentration camp. This museum is very similar to Yad vashem, in Israel. The music and recordings are very authentic. We will never forget .. AG

Very informative museum in what was a WW2 work camp for Slovaks. Packed with information, exhibits and many true experience details. Highly recommended and very friendly receptionist who organized a taxi back to the train station for us. Only comment would be that although the information was all in English as well as Slovak there was only 1 book to buy in English.

Really impressive Holocaust Museum tucked away in a small neighborhood. The active rail lines running adjacent to the place really helped you visualize how thousands of Jews were transported into and out of Sered.

An extraordinary experience, particularly when one's ancestors suffered in this labor/concentration camp.

Great place with big history the lady at the reception was amazing. Take in consideration to get there by car from Seredi as the walk is a bit different (no sidewalks)

A very important site, thank you so much Aneta for the comprehensive guided tour. I consider this site as a must see site for every visitor in Slovakia.

This is not the correct adjective, the reason for the high rating is for the excellence of presentation.
It's a deeply sad place with haunting memories, a necessary reminder of how cultures can degenerate when hate takes over.
To see so many names listed, of whom the majority would have perished in such an inhumane way gives gravity and memory equal import.
Children especially come tbrough as exceptional copers of circumstance with their open hearts and minds, bless their memories for all time.
So many lives destroyed, i hope they found eventual peace in some way.

Small and out of the way, but very powerful and does justice to the horror of Europe's past. A pain to get to without a car but not much they can do about that I guess.
