Grand Cru Wine Gallery

I visited the Grand Cru Wine Gallery in Bratislava last week and it was an incredible and amazing experience! The atmosphere was perfect and the wine selection was fantastic. Martin, the owner, personally attended to our small group and curated a tasting menu that pleased our entire crew. He was very knowledgeable and friendly with a fun attitude that captured our attention and made our experience even more enjoyable. He also talked to us in a personal manner and tried to get to know us which made us feel welcome. He was also generous with the wine which made our experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy some local wine with expert local wine knowledge.

Really amazing atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. Really good selection of wine. Warm inside. Good knowledge of selections of wines. Music suited the atmosphere. Food was suitable for selection of wines.

I almost don’t want to share this secret…

I walk up and the owner, Martin, says: “You look thirsty, my friend.” He proceeds to indulge me in some of the finest wine I’ve ever had, knowledgeably explained.
THIS. THIS is how you treat travelers. Martin could honestly teach a Master class in hospitality.

The wine was excellent. The prices are excellent. Martin was excellent. I feel like I made a new friend.

A TRUE five star experience in every way. I’d give six stars if I could.

What an amazing place! I went alone as a walk-in, and ended up having so much fun. Probably my most fun experience in Bratislava! The owner was so generous, kind and engaging with everyone. It was easy to end up talking to other guests. The wines were delicious and had new grape types only grown in Slovakia, such as Hron and Dunaj. The cheese and meat platter was also tasty and went well with the wines.

From start to finish a great little wine bar. The owner is awesome, super knowledgeable and passionate about his wines. Just let him do his thing - tell him what wines you like and he’ll pick out the ones you should try. And great prices too. Highly recommend!!!!

This place lived up to its expectations. When we were looking around for a wine bar we found this place with a 4,8 score o' google maps. Curious about the score we went to try some wine.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the host, Martin. As a host he is perfect. He warmly greets his costumers, asks them about their wine preference and he has an amazing knowledge of the wines he serves.

We tasted a lot of different wines, all. Of them based on our personal preferences. For my girlfriend he chose the right white wines with a certain sweet and dryness while for me he chose the best red wines. He even served a wine whish he has an exclusive limited edition of.

To top it al off, Martin gave us some insight information about certain places we should definitely visit in bratislava. Hats of for this bar, if I could I would give it more than a 5* rating.

Where do I start? The evening was superb, within a few hours we had met and now have a set of friends for life.

The wine was all from local vineyards, some unnamed bottles of "special" wine that you just couldn't buy. Martin the ownder has a cellar in the shop in the basement and truly loves his wine, his choices were not only perfect they were completely different with each bottle (and we went through a few)

The only issue of the night was I couldn't figure out how to sleep on the bed afterwards so slept on a cold floor. But I don't think this was the wine type just maybe the quantity

The best wine bar I have ever experienced. It has the speakeasy / cellar vibe with an intimate feel. The owner goes out of his way to ensure we tasted the best wines in a very natural way. I recommend anyone traveling to Bratislava to make this a destination stop. The wine was so good I bought 3 boxes to bring back home. #bratislava #wine #winecellar

Great place with good local wines and nice owner/staff. Very friendly in nice location of the Bratislava old streets.

A cute little winery that's hidden in an alley of the main pedestrian zone. Offers a wide variety of great slovak wines. The owner is very friendly and knows his wines!

Great intro to Slovakian wines by very knowledgeable, engaging & friendly owner, Martin Pagac! A great spot just a block off the main tourist street in old town Bratislava! Casual, informal & most enjoyable! Don’t miss this one!!!

Martin was fantastic but it wasn’t how I remembered.

This being said we tried some lovely Slovak wines, we preferred the reds against the very sweet whites.

Cheese board was nice and it didn’t ruin the trip so much that the partner was absolutely smashed the next day

My girlfriend and I came here after our wine tour was cancelled and we were so lucky to stumble upon such a great place. Martin was brilliant - we sampled and learned about 9 wines from Slovakia. It was busy, but the service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Great service, amazing service which is flexible to a customer. We have stayed till 23:30 but official working hours till 22:00. The variety of vine is amazing, you can try any you want to. And in the end buy a bottle for a price of regular shop.

Visiting this bar is the best thing you can do in Bratislava. 100% recommended. An essential visit to this wonderful city.

Martin was such a great host and has a wealth of knowledge of fantastic local wines. I would highly recommend a stop off here for a glass or two of Vino. Was there a short while and felt like an old friend. 5 🌟

The number two reason to come and visit Bratislava is whatever you think it is, but the number one reason is undoubtedly this magical place. My fond memories of Grand Cru Wine Gallery and host Martin date back to 2017, and I've kept coming back ever since. Moving to Estonia didn't change it. COVID didn't change it. Starting a diet didn't change it either. Well, enough said, I reckon :)

Do not miss this place. Amazing vibe—perfect pre- or post- dinner stop. The wine is a strong side benefit to an engaging host. We found immediate friends with neighboring tables. Unforgettable.

One of my favorite places in the world! We love how friendly and passionate & knowledgeable about every single wine Martin is. This place is so inviting, it is so hard to leave once you walk through the door! 1000% recommend.
