A'arif fort

Aarif Fort is the oldest historical building in Hail city. It was built to protect the city from enemies. During Saudi rule, the fort was used for moon sightings and iftar cannon firing during Ramadan. Recently, the A'arif Fort was opened to tourists as a cultural heritage site.

Very neatly cared heritage! Must see. Located at a strategic point of Hail.

One of the old castle here in hail saudi arabia, sad to say when i came here early morning the main gate is close..But the view from the outside is so amazing.

This is a nice historical place which you need to visit and see the building done naturally and beautifully very nice for the children to see the goodness in the day’s before. There is a lot of shops around and more to see you can also see the whole area from the to of the building so please come see Saudi Arabia and make sure you get the history of the Saudi people family orientated and hard working people.

I never thought it would that amazing to climb this fort. So beautiful!

None of the official information makes any sense. Maybe someone can help or am I missing something?

If the castle was constructed in 1260 AH (according to Heritage Commission website) - that is equivalent to 1844/1845AD as the Islamic year falls into two of the Gregorian years. That means it was built in 19th Century not 17th Century as all the website say. If it was 17th Century it would have been built in the 1600s which is down in the 1000s for AH calendar ....

It's a historical palace belongs to 12th to 14th century and made of mud and clay. It's on top you can go up by stairs. Can have a bird eye view of Hail

fantastic . one enclosure closed . visitor center closed. well maintained. time required 40 mins max. but i recommend grab a bite and a cuppa coffee or tea and watch the sunset from this location. as the city lights up. no legend to read. open 24 hours . parking available on site. no rest rooms .

Beautiful fort in Hail, still working on when we where there.

This is an impressive ancient fort located in Ha'il. It is made of brick from mud and clay. From top you can get a city view of Hail. This is a very important historical preserve in Saudi Arabia.
