من مكان غزوة الخندق مسجد الصحابي الجليل ثاني الخلفاء الراشدين الملقب بالفاروق لعدله عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يقال انه كان مرابط في غزوة الخندق في نفس مكان هذا المسجد

الصحابي الجليل عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه أبو حفص والملقب بالفاروق و لُقّب بالفاروق لأنّ الله فرّق به بين الحقّ والباطل وأحد المبشرين بالجنة.
عن عبدالله بن مسعود قال : قال الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم : " اللهم اعز الاسلام بعمر بن الخطاب أو بأبي جهل بن هشام " فجعل الله دعوة رسوله ﷺ لعمر بن الخطاب.
