Hostel Srebrenica

My story. My host in Sarajevo texted me to say he was driving to Belgrade overnight, and did I want a lift to Srebrenica as he was passing through the town.

The host called Milos at this hostel and said we would be there at 12 am. Milos said sure. We arrived at the ungodly hour of 12.45 am. Milos was there to greet us, and suggested the tired driver to stay at his hostel overnight for free. That's the sort of guy he is.

The next day Milos and I spent hours talking on a variety of topics. Milos is a lawyer who speaks english better than we do.

The hostel is fine. Clean, comfy, super quiet, helpful advice and a 15 minute walk into town, which incongruously, has a supermarket with everything.

It's a hour walk to the memorial if you want some exercise (I did).

We found ourselves dropped off at the bus station on arrival to Srebrenica and very much lost; the closest place to seek directions was the hostel Srebrenica. Milos and his mother were hugely hospitable and helpful. Milos speaks perfect English and I will remember him fondly for his support during our hour of need. We did not stay at the hostel but next time we visit we certainly will!

Been to Hostel Srebenica in the summer of 2013, 2015 and 2022.

I have been here with friends, and with my family including young kids.

The kids enjoyed to play in the garden and with the cats and dog.

Each time the hostel had improved, stairway improved, bathrooms redone and a very nice roofed lounge area complete with outside kitchen.

The one thing that was unchanged troughout all of our visits was the prime example of hospitality set by Milos and Bosa.

Lots to do in the area. Visit the memorial complex in Potocari. The exhibition is enlarged year by year.

Kids loved to swim in the Drina at Rajska Plaza near Bratunac. Go for a walk in the park with large mining equipment and vehicles in Milici, visit the large tower for a beautifull view of the town. (You can even have your drinks up there, if you ask the cafe staff). Visegrad and the mountainous train ride at Mokra Gora a very nice as well.

This hostel is amazing! Firstly, we arrived a day late and even with the late notice that we gave, they were very understanding and we were not charged for our original booking. The owner is so lovely, and brought us cake and coffee on arrival, and even brought us fresh berries and coffee after we’d checked out and were waiting for our bus. The hostel is very clean, and has a beautiful garden in the back with a stream. I highly recommend this place! :)

I had the pleasure to stay at Hostel Srebrenica which is one of the very few accommodation in town. It’s a very nice and new hostel with all necessary things for travellers. It’s at the end of the town coming from the mountains (or beginning if you come from Tuzla/Zvornik), besides the bus station which is not operating at the moment. It’s very important to visit Srebrenica and keep the memory alive!

A warm welcome in this troubled (but oh so beautiful) destination. The woman and her son are very friendly. He speaks English well and he is willing to guide you through the dark history, with respect to the different interests and interpretations of the different groups in Bosnia-H. I would recommend to visit the Dutchbat camp and the memorial with all the graves, but spend a day extra and take a beautiful walk to the healing sources and to the ruins of the ancient town, with spectacular views. Or go for a serious hike through the mountains and the forests.

Perfect little getaway right by the bus station but still close enough to town. Rooms and bathrooms are great and the owners are beyond great, they are worth the 5 stars alone.

Vše bylo nové a hezký zařízené, vůbec neodpovídá pohledu na HOSTEL 7 nás. Pokoje mají vlastní soc zařízení. A domácí Miloš je fajn týpek. Mluví Anglicky a německy.

Љубазни и пријатни домаћини. Сјајна услуга, удобан и чист смештај.

Jako fini i kulturni domaćini. Sve preporuke. Smeštaj jako udoban.

Sehr schöner Ort zum Übernachten. Man kann auch gemütlich im Garten sitzen.
