Old Town Fortress

Very nice, recently reconstructed 14 century fortress. The entrance is free. It’s on a cliff and offers amazing views of Užice city and surrounding nature. Don’t miss out if you’re visiting the area!

Recently reconstructed fortress with beautiful view over the river and city of Užice. To acces it, you need to enter the city. It can be accessed by car, but some of the roads are quite steep. It is opened every day from 11:00 to 18:00, except Tuesday.

There is a parking right in front of the fortress. But it is quite small.
Entrance is free, astonishing view to the city.

Ruins of an old citadel standing on the top of the hill, it is from 14th century. It is unsafe for children or people who don't want to follow the rules, below the citadel is small cave which you can enter. There is no fee, just follow the road up hill :)

Reconstruction of this monument / fortress is in process. After finishing it will be unique place for visit at this part of Serbia. Very nice view on the city of Užice

Very nice place, the entrance was about 700 dinars. The top of the fortress was closed though

Old Castel of Uzice. The main seat and Capital of the Serbian ilirik Vojinovic/ Vujinovic dynasty and Vojinovic realm in the 14. Century!

Nice views up from there. You can see whole city and there is no charge taken for entry.

Currently, the entry is free while organization is improving the buildings around fortress

Fortress has been restored to the original plans from the age when Turks ruled. There is a guide that gives you a lot of great information regarding the building and history overall.

Visited this tower during our first day in Serbia. We were greeted by Mira, a tour guide who was kind enough to teach us the history of the fortress and answer our questions on everything from current affairs to history to places we should visit.. all in perfect English!

Amazing place! The town is in full view! There are nothing to do here - just watching and making photos.

We wanted to visit topof fortress but guide was not on site 😅. There is guide tour every 30 min unless you catch it you have to wait as doors are locked.

Nice views. Good for hiking. Extreme care to be taken as there's no bariers nor fences.
