Restoran "Stari Slon", Sombor

I stopped in for lunch on a very chilly, rainy day. I ordered tomato soup, fresh cabbage and some bread. The portions were huge! Really too much for one person but everything was delicious. A perfect lunch for a cold day.

The restaurant is located in the city center. It is easy to find, in a city area with plenty of parking spaces. In this environment, among the local population, it is considered one of the most respected restaurants with a long-standing tradition and an excellent menu for all lovers of traditional Serbian cuisine. The food is of excellent quality. I recommend the fish stew. The staff is polite, accommodating, smiling and friendly. The service is first class. The atmosphere is excellent. All praises.

Amazing experience. We were on a family trip and we booked 3 nights here. The rooms were clean, the staff was really friendly and accommodating.
We needed a pet friendly place for our Bernese Mountain Dog, and we had no issues even though it was her first trip and she does get a bit nervous at times. Even though the restaurant itself does not allow pets, the accommodation did. The staff was even kind enough to arrange us a table outside so that we didn't have to leave our dog in the room while we had coffee.
When it comes to the restaurant, we can say the same. The barbecue was fantastic, some of the best ones we've had in a while, with that touch of serbian traditional kitchen, as well as the aesthetics.

So delicious food, best fish paprikash I have ever tasted (chef is Martin, he is making it for years now). I was fascinated by the size of the plates for that meal (hope it can be seen on photos)

I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable considering the quality. The staff was not only professional but also friendly, always ready to engage in a conversation and provide helpful advice unrelated to the restaurant. This is a place we never miss visiting when we're in Sombor.

The best restaurant in Sombor, great food (in the European context), pleasant staff and in outside part is the yellow elephant for calming children :-)

Amazing food, always pleasent waiters.

Beautiful location near waterside, great food, long tradition and nice interior. They have a great traditional Serbian barbecue I would recommend "gurmanska" or "punjena pljeskavica" they are both delicious. The restaurant is pretty busy, so you might want to call ahead to make reservations during weekends.

Rustic atmosphere, big portions and great food.

It is always nice to visit Sombor, beautiful city for walk and sightseeing, having nice cup of coffee at the city center of having an enjoyable meal at restaurant Stari Slon.

Delicious food, great environment but very cheeky waiter. But doesn't matter I give it a 5 star review.
